Review of DeWalt’s XRP Cordless Drills

In May of 2004, DeWalt released its answer to Stanley’s FatMax line of power tools with the XRP line of power drills. This industrial strength cordless drill series is capable of withstanding the rigorous daily life demanded by construction-grade drills, yet still holds a charge for most of the workday without spending costly man-hours recharging the batteries.

The DeWalt XRP cordless drill series has seven different models, with three being 18V, another three at 14.4V and a 12V baby. All seven models are built with a three speed all metal transmission that quickly transfers power in variable speeds from its high-efficiency motor that has over 500-in-pounds of torque.

These ½” ratchet drive chucks will accept bits from the largest to the smallest sizes into its all metal bit sleeve. With three high-strength carbide tipped jaws that grip the bit, you don’t have to worry about bits falling out. Need to change a bit? Twist the ratchet drive chuck to release the bit, then store it in the built in multi-bit storage unit that is available on all XRP models.

With a three-year limited warranty that covers just about everything, your sure to get a powerful cordless drill that will last for years to come, guaranteed.

One of the most important features in the XRP line of drills is that all of the batteries are compatible with other tools in the XRP line. That means you can switch your battery quickly between tools when other may be charging. This is a very important feature for anyone who works their tools hard.

The 18V DeWalt XRP series of cordless tools is one of the most powerful and diverse set of tools on the market today. With the DeWalt name to back it up, you know these cordless tools are the best.

Prices range from $50 for the 12V series up to the large 18V XRP’s of up to $300. With that kind of fluctuation in prices, you’re sure to find the right XRP cordless tool set that is right for you.

And with over 2/3 of DeWalt’s cordless tools being XRP series tools, you’re sure to get the right tool for the job, and still interchange batteries. This gives DeWalt XRP series cordless tools a huge advantage over its competitors and makes it the largest single-battery platform cordless tool set in the industry. From field level lasers, to small handheld cut off tools, the DeWalt XRP cordless tool series is sure to be a great buy if you’re looking for tools with quality, diversity, strength and power.
