Product Review: St. Ives Apricot Scrub

All women are looking for the perfect product for their skin. Especially if they are looking for a good exfoliant. The Apricot Scrub from St. Ives is just the product for them. I use it regularly and it has made a huge difference in the texture of my skin. The Apricot Scrub is oil free and great for all skin types. I think that it’s super great for those of us with dry skin or just a few small patches of dry skin.

St. Ives is a well known company that has fabulous skin care products at great low prices and never tests their products on animals, which is a huge plus in my book. Everything that I have used from this company has always been top notch and great for my skin. The Apricot Scrub is no different. You can use the Apricot Scrub on a daily basis or just every so often like I do. It’s gentle enough to use as often as you want and effective enough to work everytime that you use it, even if that’s only twice a month.

The St. Ives Apricot Scrub can be found at almost any drug store and at places like Wal-Mart. You can get it in a couple different sizes including a 1 ounce tube. It’s very inexpensive so you don’t have to worry about spending big bucks on an exfoliant. The Apricot Scrub has ingredients like apricot extract, sunflower extract and even water, as well as other things that are great at cleaning and exfoliating your skin.

The first thing that you will notice when you open up your St. Ives Apricot Scrub is the color and texture. Since it’s a “scrub” it has a rough texture to actually do some really good scrubbing. The color is a beige, peach color with little light brown specks in it. Next, you will notice the scent. I fully expected a fruity smell from the name of the product but I was surprised to find that it’s a light flowery scent, not some overpowering scent.

To use the St. Ives Apricot Scrub all you have to do it wet your face, get a small amount of the scrub and rub it onto your face. I find that using a circular motion while applying the Apricot Scrub works it into your skin a lot better than any other way. Once you have “scrubbed” your face with it you then rinse it off with water. Please be careful not to get the Apricot Scrub into your eyes because it can be harmful. It’s worse than getting a grain of sand or dirt in your eye and could actually scratch your eye. So be very careful when using it around your eyes and when rinsing it off of your face.

The St. Ives Apricot Scrub is a very easy and simple product to use when your skin needs to be exfoliated. Afterwards, it will leave you with a smooth, soft face and wondering why you never tried the Apricot Scrub before. When you try it for the first time you may want to get the smallest bottle you can find for the first time, which is a 1 ounce trial size bottle. I have known a few people who turned out to not like the St. Ives Apricot Scrub and they had purchased the largest size available only to have it go to waste or into the trash can. So I always suggest that a person trying it for the first time should buy the trial size first so that they can find out if they really like the product before spending money on the larger sizes.

In the end, the St. Ives Apricot Scrub is a great product. A little of it goes a long way (I can use a 1 ounce bottle for several months) and it’s a good price so it can be a product that you will use for many years to come. It leaves you skin soft and smooth with no harsh side effects or a strong chemical scent. No need to spend large amounts of money on things that claim to exfoliate when you can get St. Ives Apricot Scrub for a fraction of the cost. Try it the next time you are in the beauty and skin care section of your favorite store and see what you think about it. You may just find a new favorite product!
