Product Review: Newman’s Own Organics Peanut Butter Premium Dog Treats

Dog treats are an integral part of the training process. Besides using as a reward for good behavior or commands followed, every good four legged furry friend deserves a treat now and again for the simple joy they bring to our lives. Grocery stores and pet supply stores are chock full of every type and flavor dog treat imaginable. Dog treats are not all created equal, however, and many are filled with nothing nutritional. My mother in law’s beloved greyhound recently passed away. A devastating loss, she was recently going though her cabinets and came upon a full package of Newman’s Own Organics Peanut Butter Premium Dog Treats that she had bought to entice the dog’s appetite in the end stages of his life. Never having the chance to feed her greyhound the treats, she gave them to me to take home to my dogs.

After reading the nutritional information printed on the package of Newman’s Own Organics Peanut Butter Premium Dog Treats, I was very confident that feeding the treats occasionally to Cody and Maggie was a responsible and caring choice as a dog owner. Newman’s Own Organics Peanut Butter Premium Dog Treats contains barley flour, ground chicken, carrots, apples, peanut butter, flax seed, canola oil, rolled oats, sunflower and sesame seeds and natural peanut flour. Newman’s Own Organics Peanut Butter Premium Dog Treats are certified organic. Newman’s Own Organics Premium Dog Treats also come in Cheese, Vegetable and Chicken flavors.

After being assured of it’s nutritional value, the only thing left in question was the taste. Would Cody and Maggie take to Newman’s Own Organics Peanut Butter Premium Dog Treats? In a word, Yes. They absolutely loved the little heart shaped treats and frequently go over to the cabinet where I store them in hopes that one or two will magically make it’s way out of the bag and into their mouths! The bag I have is of the medium sized treats which is the perfect size for both my dogs to enjoy a tasty treat without it being too much. There is a convenient see through window in the back of the package which allows you to see the exact size of the treats that you will be feeding your dogs. I find this to be a great advantage to this product. Many dog treat packages are completely enclosed so you when buying a new product, you are not sure exactly how large or small the individual treats are.

Newman’s Own Organics Premium Dog Treats was a wonderful treat for my dogs from my mother in law. Although the circumstances of which we were introduced to this fine product was quite sad, I am pleased that I have found a healthy and nutritious treat for my dogs. Once this package is empty, I will be sure to buy another bag for Cody and Maggie to enjoy.
