Product Review: Infinity Razor Just Doesn’t Cut It

The Infinity Razor infomercial certainly can turn heads. With the cost of high quality manual razors approaching $10, who couldn’t use a razor that never dulls, lasts forever and retails for only $19.95? Sure it’s a little more expensive than a good Gillette razor, but if it works and lasts the way the infomercial claims, then it would pay for itself after a few months. The problem with the Infinity Razor is that it just doesn’t perform well.

The Infinity Razor is marketed as “The Last Razor You Will Ever Buy” because if its super sharp and durable steel blades. The blades may be durable, but they are far from sharp. The first test was on an adult male beard. The razor dragged and pulled like a cheap single blade disposable razor, making for a very uncomfortable shave, even with plenty of shaving cream. The worst thing wasn’t the discomfort, though. Even after all the pulling and tugging, there was still visible stubble. It took three trips over the same area to remove all of the stubble. Late in the afternoon, a shadow reappeared. The Infinity Razor just doesn’t cut as close as a regular twin blade razor and was certainly no match for a triple or quad blade razor. For men, the product just isn’t worth the time, trouble or money.

The next test was on female legs. The hair was not as coarse or as long, so the Infinity Razor should have provided better results, but the results were similar to what was experienced with facial hair. The razor didn’t touch the shortest hairs at all on the first pass. It took two passes over the areas with the heaviest growth and three and, in some cases four, on areas with the shortest hair. The Infinity Razor did not glide smoothly over the skin, and the skin was left feeling slightly raw. After such bad experiences with the first two tests, the Infinity Razor was not tested on underarm or bikini line hair.

For $19.95, you can receive one Infinity Razor, with a second razor free plus the cost of shipping If ordered from the infomercial, you receive two bonuses: an Infinity Micro Trimmer and an Infinity Chef Knife. There is a money back guarantee, but as usual with infomercials, the $8.95 shipping charge is not refunded. While a lifetime razor sounds like a great idea, it fails in its execution.
