Product Review: Bed Head 1″ Tourmaline Ceramic Hair Straightener

The Bed Head 1″ Tourmaline Ceramic Hair Straightener is a great new product for straightening your hair. The 1 inch ceramic plates are the perfect size to hold just the right amount of hair to get it straight. Because of the tourmaline, the straightener heats up in about 30 seconds and stays hot. The plates are flexible which makes it gentler on your hair than most straighteners.

I purchased this hair straightener to replace a different model that died. I definitely prefer this one over my old one. The ceramic plates are a great feature. I feel like they heat up more evenly than my old metal one and hold the heat. I have noticed less damage in my hair with this straightener because there are no places on the edges for hair to get caught. I don’t have nearly as many split ends.

There is a switch on the side for on/off. There is also a wheel that allows you to adjust the temperature of the plates. I find that it works better on a hotter temperature for thicker hair and a lower temperature for lower hair. This is a nice feature because you can find the temperature that works best for you without burning your hair.

This hair straightener works very quickly because of the temperature setting. I can pass over each section of my hair twice and have it be perfectly straight. This greatly cuts down on the time I have to spend in the morning doing my hair which is always a plus. It is even good enough that it can get my hair fairly straight even if I have not blow dried it.

I find that using a flat brush to follow the straightener down your hair helps makes things go faster. The hair gets so hot that it will burn your hands anyway if you touch it without a brush.

The ceramic plates are very easy to clean. I can take a wet washcloth (when the straightener is unplugged) and wipe all of the styling residue off of them easily.

I recommend this straightener to anyone who uses one on a regular basis. It is a little expensive at $70 but the time it will save you makes it worth it. I have used this product almost every day for about five months and have not had any problems with it whatsoever. Pick one up!
