MyKidsCloset.com: Online Children’s Consignment Store

Do you ever wonder if anyone ever really clicks on the links in your email signature? I have wondered that quite often, but a few days ago I answered my own question by clicking on a link in the signature section of an email I received. The link took me to a site called My Kids Closet.

My Kids Closet is an online classified service where users can buy and sell new and gently used children’s clothing, toys, baby gear, furniture, and almost anything related to children. My Kids Closet allows you to search for items by zip code or you can choose to shop from national listings. Signing up as a user with My Kids Closet is free, and is simple, the sign up form basically just asks for your name, address, phone number, and email address.

If you are an individual or a boutique My Kids Closet has a selling plan for you. For individuals there are never any fees charged to place an ad on the website. For boutiques, or home-based business owners a nominal fee is charged for each ad you post on the website, with fees starting out at only $0.50 per ad. The ads are placed on the website for sixty days, and can also include a link directly to your website. You can choose to have your ad featured for only $2.

My Kids Closet has several unique and interesting features. If you are interested in seeing how many visitors and registered users to the website there are from your area you can use the website’s What’s Happening In My Area feature. Just simply enter your zip code to get your results. Not only does it show how many visitors and registered users to the website but it also shows the wanted listings for the area.

The My Wish List Feature allows users to post what items they are looking for. When users list an item on their wish list they will be notified via email when the item they are looking for becomes available on the website.

Another great tool that My Kids Closet offers is their Pricing Calculator. The Pricing Calculator allows users to enter the category of the item they are selling, the condition of the item, and the original retail price of the item, once they enter this information and hit calculate the calculator gives the fair market-value price of the item. For example if you are interested in selling a car seat that cost $129 originally, and the car seat is in gently used condition, the calculator will tell you that a good price to list your item at is somewhere between $38.70 and $45.15.

I think that we are going to be hearing a lot more about My Kids Closet and that it will be growing into a great online consignment store.
