Mom it’s Mother’s Day and it’s another year
I seem seconds away from graduation
We’ve been through so much you and I
Through trips to the grocery store for school projects at six A.M.
Through wrestling meets and induction ceremonies
Through random school fees
Through “do as I please”
You’ve always been there when I needed you most
Especially when I thought my way was right and yours way wrong
How wrong I turned out to be but you were there in a pinch
You sense of style was (and still is) always a cinch
Mom time goes on and I’m ready to leave the nest
Soon I’ll go to college and your son will grow old
But you’ll always be with me as I’ve always been told
Mom it’s Mothers Day and it’s another poem
