Moisturizer Review: Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer

Anyone who has combination skin knows that it is hard to find skincare products that address the both dryness and oiliness effectively. The hardest product to find is a good moisturizer. Moisturizers either don’t provide enough moisture to my dry areas or too much for the oily parts of my face. As a result, I mainly moisturize in the fall and winter and only during the evening for spring and summer. So when I received a sample of Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer, I decided to put it to the test.

Product Claims

The Simple Skincare website and the product packaging have slightly different effectiveness statements. Here is what the product page on their website:

Our Replenishing Rich Moisturizer leaves your skin replenished and nourished all day long, plus it’s a perfect blend of our purest possible skin loving ingredients with an added vitamin.

The added vitamin is Pro Vitamin B5. The “all day long” claim is based off of the packaging and bottle claim that the moisturizer keeps skin hydrated for 12 hours.

Simply Put to the Test

My first test of the moisturizer came at bedtime. With the label saying “rich moisturizer” I was expecting a thick cream to come out of the bottle. To my surprise and delight the formula is rather light in texture. Applied it to my face and neck. The moisturizer absorbs quickly into the skin. My skin did not feel greasy but smooth and soft.

The next morning I used it after cleaning my face with the Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes. I had not plans on going out so typically I would not use a moisturizer but since I was testing the product I made an exception. Same results with the quick absorption and smooth soft skin. It lasted for most of the day.

Does it Live Up to Its Claims?

I can say that my skin does love the ingredients. They are not harsh and they keep my skin adequately moisturized. I can’t claim that it lasts for 12 hours and I can’t say that it does not. If it is warm and I am doing housework, my skin becomes oily so I have to freshen up mid-day. Typically it has lasted me for about eight hours before I need refresh my face due to oil production and shine. Based upon how long I do keep it on, I do believe that this product can moisturize for 12 hours.

If you have combination skin, especially if it is sensitive I do recommend Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer. It does not contain sunscreen so you will need to use one if you plan on leaving the house. I find this moisturizer is good to use for both morning and night. If you want to try it out for yourself you purchase it at Amazon.com ($11.09), Walmart ($9.97) and drugstore.com ($10.99).
