The facility claims to be “the only training facility offering all major aspects of mixed martial arts in West Michigan.” Grand Rapids Mixed Martial Arts lives up to this claim offering a full line of mixed martial arts classes including classes in Muay Thai Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Fight Team Training, and wrestling. As a bonus, their head instructor is Nate Carey who is a veteran professional fighter who has participated in events like King of the Cage and Gladiator Challenge. Legion Mixed Martial Arts (401 Hall St SW Suite B-148 / Grand Rapids, MI / Email: tom@legionmma.com) – Legion MMA’s head instructor Tom Fick draws on his extensive experience in Pilipino knife/stick fighting, Tai Chi, Boxing, and Muay Thai to offer well-rounded mixed martial arts training. Classes are held three days per week including Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturdays from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Classes are $50 per month or can be taken in combination with Wing Chun Kung Fu classes for $75 per month.

Chan’s Kung Fu School & MMA Gym (3158 Division Ave S / Grand Rapids, MI / Phone: 616-475-9021) – Chan’s Kung Fu School and Mixed Martial Arts Gym offers a full line of beginner and intermediate MMA training in addition to invitation only MMA sparring sessions. Their mixed martial arts training includes techniques drawn from a broad range of martial arts with a focus on the combat arts of Boxing, Judo, Muay Thai, Submission Grappling, and Wing Chun. The training includes physical condition and endurance training. At Super T Karate, their mixed martial arts classes include training in Kickboxing, Shootfighting, Ju-Jitsu, Boxing, Wrestling, and Submission Concepts.
