Kids’ New Year’s Eve Party Games

Celebrate 2010 with a kids’ New Year’s Eve party this year. We love having our grandsons visit so we can celebrate with them and ring in the new year! Pop some popcorn or make super-duper ice cream sundaes. Use plastic champagne glasses for their juice. Buy some 2010 party hats, leis or Mardi Gras necklaces for the kids to wear.

You don’t have to decorate a lot for a kids’ New Year’s Eve party. They are more excited about getting to stay up until midnight to watch television and see the ball drop at Times Square! The games and activities you plan for your kid’s New Year’s Eve party are very important. Try to plan alternating high and low energy games so the kids don’t get too crazy.

Kids’ New Year’s Eve Party Game #1

A Scavenger Hunt can be done inside or outside of your home. This game can be set up for very young children to adults so it is a good choice for any age group. If you don’t want to try to figure out clues you can find online scavenger games at MyMysteryParty. The indoor board game of Scavenger Hunt for Kids can be found at Amazon.com. It is recommended for ages 6-10 years.

Kids’ New Year’s Eve Party Game #2

Parents.com has a printable Treasure Hunt game. You can fill in the blanks to personalize the game for your kids’ New Year’s Eve party. They even have printable “You found the treasure” and the “#1 Winner” trophy sheets. Treasure Hunts can be set up using everyday household items so it isn’t difficult to organize. They can be done for kids of all ages. If you have kids that can’t read, cut pictures out of magazines for the clues.

Kid’s New Year’s Eve Party Game #3

Host a Wii game Sports Tournament for the kids’ New Year’s Eve party. There are so many fun Wii games that will have kids up and moving. Organize a bowling tournament or maybe a water sports contest! I don’t know a single kid that doesn’t enjoy Wii games, so it’s sure to be a hit at your party.

Kids’ New Year’s Eve Party Game #4

Another great electronic game to play is Guitar Hero. Let the kids battle it out to see who’s most likely to become a rock ‘n roll star!

For game prizes at your kids’ New Year’s Eve party, you can give 2010 calendars, journals, diaries, or photo albums. Have a Happy kids’ New Year’s Eve party to celebrate 2010!
