Justin Bieber Thinks Viddy is a Better Way to Shoot and Share Video

There wasn’t much time that sunny Wednesday afternoon as Viddy co-founder Brett O’Brien took a few minutes out of his extremely busy day to discuss Viddy with me. We talked about their plans, where Viddy has been and who is using Viddy and where they would like to see Viddy in the future. This is what Brett had to say:

Q: How did you become partners with Viddy Co-founder JJ?

A: I have known him for over 10 years. We actually developed and sold an application to AOL a few years back.

Q: Where did the idea of Viddy come from?

A: Viddy was inspired by people telling us that they would love to have a tool where they could take video and make it look cool and get it up online without a lot of work. Viddy was also inspired by our world of instant gratification.

Q: Where did you go to school?

A: Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. I majored in marketing and business.

Q: How old are you?

A: Forty-five.

Q: Are you officially merged with facebook, Twitter, YouTube and ITunes?

A: We are technically merged with them

Q: Is the application just for the iphone?

A: Right now it is for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Q: What do you want people to know about Viddy?

A: That Viddy is the easiest, fastest and most fun way to shoot, edit and share video in an instant.

Q: What is your hope for Viddy in the future?

A: That everybody uses Viddy to contact, communicate and share with one another important moments in their lives.

Q: How many celebrities are currently using Viddy?

A: Well there is Snoop Dogg, Justin Bieber, Linkin Park, Paris Hilton, Warren Sapp, The Olson Twins, Rihanna, Meek Mill, T-Pain, Jimmie Johnson, Bill Cosby and Britney Spears. We have some country artists showing interest as well so that info will be coming soon.

Q: How do you go about attracting celebrities to become Viddy users?

A: By having a great product for them to use.

Q: Who was your first celebrity user?

A: Linkin Park and then I think it was Snoop Dogg.

Q: Would you say the celebrity involvement has had a major impact on Viddy’s rapid growth?

A: Yes, they have been a huge catalyst.

Q: If you could handpick one celebrity, who isn’t already a user to become a Viddy user, who would you choose?

A: President Obama.

Q: Where do you envision Viddy one year from now?

A: We don’t think along the lines of a timeline like that. We would love to see everybody in the world using Viddy.

I went on to ask him what the plans on for Viddy and he told me that they are currently getting ready to launch an open ATI, which will allow other platforms and applications access to Viddy and Viddy users. They are also currently working on and app for Android. Everybody using Viddy and Viddy becoming a household name would be what the creators of Viddy would like to see happen to it. Right now they are watching it grow daily and enjoying the way it is bringing people across the world together.
