* In 1980, Jon Bon Jovi recorded his first single, “Runaway.” When local radio stations started playing his single, people took notice. MTV and radio stations continued to play Bon Jovi’s song, which started his band’s rise to fame.

* In 1989, Jon Bon Jovi married his high school sweetheart, Dorothea, at Las Vegas’ Graceland Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. There were some rough spots in their relationship both before their marriage and after, but the couple managed to work through the rough times.
