Introducing Eva Air’s New Concept Fleet Incorporating Hello Kitty

Recently Eva Air launched a new concept fleet incorporating Hello Kitty that is mainly run among the Asia, Europe, New Zealand and sometimes North America. It is a fleet full of Hello Kitty themed tickets, merchandise, airplane seats and so on. Eva Air is the largest privately owned Taiwanese airline based at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. Flying with the slogan “Just relax, your home in the air”, flyers can feel comfortable knowing they are flying with a fleet that is known by the IATA (International Air Transport Association) with the IOSA (IATA Operations Safety Audit) for its safety practices, it is one of the first Taiwanese fleets to be recognized with this honor.

It comes to no surprise that Eva Air is trying to reach into the multimillion dollar Hello Kitty market by teaming up with Sanrio Company, Ltd. First of its kind, Eva Air plans to produce an entire new special-edition EVA Airbus 330-200 fleet that is painted entirely with super-sized characters from the charming world of Hello Kitty. Some of the showcased characters are Hello Kitty herself, Daniel Star, Tim and Tammy, Joy, Mimmy White, and Hello Kitty’s parents Mary and George White. Both sides of the airplane will parade all these characters. Entering the plane is no different story, the walls are splashed in Hello Kitty paintings, Hello Kitty branded airplane seats and flight attendants will be required to wear Hello Kitty hair bows and pink Hello Kitty aprons. Those flying Eva Hello Kitty Air will not feel out of place though, they will be given pink Hello Kitty boarding passes and luggage tags that are sure to enlighten all Hello Kitty lovers.

As for the meals on board, they too will be splashed with Hello Kitty inspired food and merchandise. The meals will be presented in a Hello Kitty branded “bento” (Asian styled lunch box) along with Hello Kitty in-flight menus. Each “bento” will contain Hello Kitty inspired cookies, sandwiches with Hello Kitty flags attached, Hello Kitty shaped pasta and vegetables, placemats and of course chopsticks. These “bento” will also be sold as merchandise for future usage. In addition, to the branded in-flight meals, merchandise will be sold that is also Hello Kitty related. Some of these items will be Hello Kitty branded bottles, placemats, bags, sugar, posters, labels and more.

At this moment, EVA Air’s special Hello Kitty Jet is exclusively flown in Fukuoka, Japan. Eva is working towards the high demand of customers wanting to fly Hello Kitty Air, that special travel agents have been contacted to create Hello Kitty tour packages, such as one that will travel to “Harmony Land” (Hello Kitty Amusement Park in Japan) to create a full Hello Kitty experience that children will love.
