Increasing Cervical Mucus Naturally

When it comes to trying to concieve, experiencing scant amounts of cervical mucus can be disappointing as well as frustrating. The miracles contained within cervical mucus in enabling the sperm to swim freely to its destination, are irreplaceable. But, there are some natural ways to increase that miraculous stuff.

Through research, I was able to find out that the cervical glands contained within the cervix, need folic acid, one of the b-vitamins, to function properly. As we age, our abillity to digest this nutrient diminishes. We have weaker hydrocholic acid levels, and, folic acid needs strong hydrochloric acid levels to be digested and received by these cervical glands, so that they may do their job of creating good quality cervical mucus. That being said, we’re back to the issue of proper digestion. Proper strong digestion is very much needed in this whole process to achieve good quality mucus, and there are ways to improve our digestion. First of all, our digestion capabilities will greatly improve with more raw food in our diets. Why? Because of the enzymes contained within them. Raw food helps to digest itself because of the enzyme levels in it, so just by doing that we increase our digestion capabilities. Also, it helps to choose raw foods high in folic acid, like the leafy greens for instance. And, juicing is always a quick option of getting raw food quick.

We can also get supplements to aid our digestion such as digestive enzymes. There are many on the market at your local health food store, but, I recommend finding one with hydrochloric acid included in the formula. Thats going to aid in the folic acid absorption. Make sure when you use the digestive enzymes, you take them right before you eat or, in the case of juicing, drink your meal. Make sure the folic acid is taken with the digestive enzymes to maximize the uptake of it as well.

If you continue doing this over the long term, you will gradually over time see the benefits of it. I can personally attest to this, because after doing it for a couple of months I began to see an increase in cervical mucus, as well as a better quality of it. It became more abundant, as well as containing more of a stretch to it. But, you have to be committed to doing this daily to see the favorable results. It also, helps to make sure you drink lots of water during your fertile time, to aid in the stretchiness of it.

You can also aid the thinning of cervical mucus by taking a product containing guaifenisen. Its a good way to thin the mucus so that the sperm can have a better swimming environment. You’ll find guaifenisen in robitussin or mucinex, theres actually a good bunch of these types of products to choose from. Some are longer acting than others which I like. Mucinex is one that you only have to take every 12 hours. A plus if you need less to remember!

I think doing these things would be better than using products like Pre-seed or other mucus replacements, because, there really is no replacement for mucus made by your own body, in the end, I think you enhance your conception capability better with mucus made by you.
