I’m Living the Good Life in Cashmina Sheets

Cashmina Micro Plush Products from Domestications are like a visit to a spa! Just the touch of this texture creates an instant relaxation of the mind and body as the inviting sheet sets, comforters, blankets and throws envelope you in total sensory exuberance with a luxury feel at an every-day price.

Always a fan of lowering the thermostat, the enticement to save on my home heating costs this winter with a set of plush sheets for my king-sized bed was just the extra nudge I needed to spend just $49.99 for my own billowy pile of Cashmina. I ordered mine in a creamy, dreamy shade of latte. We’ve had a pretty frigid and demanding winter here in the Upper Ohio Valley, and I can say I’ve never had my thermostat above 62 degrees after bedtime since covering my mattress in Cashmina. The resulting cost shaved off the gas bill has to have more than paid for the sheets in just this first winter.

The $49.99 price covers all sizes and includes the flat sheet, fitted sheet and two Sateen pillowcases (one for the twin) with a generous 200-thread count. The sheet sets also come in Rose, Sage, Honey, Bluebell and Ivory.

Just what is Cashmina? You’ll find it offered exclusively at www.domestications.com, where they say it’s a soft polyester micro plush with fur-like pile. Their ad promises it’s so cozy you won’t want to get out of bed, but, ever the skeptic, I had to try it for myself. They did not lie. The morning after my first night in Cashmina sheets I reset the alarm no less than five times! Warning: this product is not recommended for those always looking for an excuse to call off work.

Initially I want to describe the experience of sleeping in Cashmina sheets as being wrapped up in a life-size, plush stuffed animal, but on closer reflection it may be more like “becoming” a giant, plush stuffed animal. I’m all about the texture, and believe me, this is my new favorite texture!

In fact, just the arrival of the package was the cause of much oooh-ing and ahhhh-ing at my house as every member of the family took turns plunging their hands into the bundled up sheets, enviously asking variations of, “Whose ‘blanket’ is this?” and then demanding, “I want one!” They can have one easily enough, because the Cashmina blankets run only $19.99 to $39.99.

I can only suppose it’s because the Cashmina fabric makes other fabrics feel like wretched gunny sacks in comparison that the folks at Domestications also created a comforter to complete the bedding ensemble. At a very affordable $39.99, it’s next on my list of Cashmina purchases.

When you can somehow drag yourself out of the womb-like confines of your Cashmina-coated bed, you can comfort yourself back into a peaceful state on the couch or easy chair with a Cashmina throw, available for a mere $14.99. The throw and blanket are available in the six colors of the sheets and an additional three, Purple, Burgundy and Sable.

I thought I had arrived at the closest thing to Zen-like sleep when I discovered the joy of pampering myself with an 800-count Egyptian cotton sheet set, but from now on I’ll reserve those for the muggy months of June, July and August. Or, on second-thought, I might just blast that air conditioner and keep wrapped up in my can’t-live-without-it Cashmina products. Once you’ve experienced the good life, it’s pretty hard to do without it.
