How to Get Thicker, Fuller Eyelashes

I always wished fake eye lashes were as easy to apply as clip in hair-extensions. If they were, I think I would wear them just about every day. I just love the look of extra-thick, extra full, long lashes. Some women are naturally better endowed with lush lashes, and others, not so much. But that’s ok. No matter what your natural lashes look like, you can make them thicker, fuller, and darker with the right techniques and the right products.

Eyeliner. The main purpose of eyeliner is to define your eye. But it also can make your lashes look thicker and fuller. A thin (or thick) line of eyeliner at the base of the lashes will make your lashes look more lush. Use a dark color, such as black or another color that matches your lash color. Use small strokes and make sure that every space between your lashes is filled in with eyeliner. This gives the illusion of much thicker lashes. You can line just the top eyelid or the top and bottom both, if your eyes aren’t small. Don’t line just the bottom eyelid or your eyes will look unbalanced.

Lash curler. Sometimes your lashes can be hard to see because of where they ‘sit’ in the front of your eye. Curling you lashes makes them more noticeable against the backdrop of your eyelid. It also opens up your eyes, making them look bigger. A traditional lash curler is fine, but I prefer heated lash curlers for extra staying power. Hint: wearing a light colored eye shadow will also make your curled lashes stand out even more.

Falsies. False eyelashes will really plump up your lashes! False lashes come in all forms, from individual lashes that you can add one at a time to customize your look to full sets of fantasy lashes for an exciting, notice-me look. Most false eye lashes come with directions to help you apply them.

Eyelash extensions. Eyelash extensions, such as Novalash, are professionally applied false lashes. They are adhered one at a time to individual eye lashes. Touch-ups are needed every four weeks, but other than that, maintenance is low.

Lash serum. A lash serum can help grow new lashes. It can also help your lashes grow in thicker and fuller. You can try drugstore brands or get a prescription from your dermatologist. Some brands claim that use of their product will permanently darken iris color, so weigh your options carefully.

Mascara. The easiest, least expensive way to get thicker, fuller lashes is to use mascara. You can mix and match formulas to get the look you want- try a coat volumizing masara for thicker lashes, a coat of lengthening mascara for longer lashes, and make your last coat a waterproof mascara for staying power. Experiment with brands and brushes until you find the one that works best for you.

With so many options of eye lash products available, you should be able to find something to fit your budget and your needs. You’ll be well on your way to enjoying thicker, fuller lashes.
