Homemade Pumpkin Facial Mask for Exfoliating Skin Naturally

My skin can get flaky and dry once in awhile and one of the ways I help exfoliate and rejuvenate my skin naturally is with a homemade pumpkin facial mask. The reason why I use pumpkin to make a facial mask is because pumpkin contains enzymes, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and alpha-hydroxy acids that help safely remove the dead layer of skin from my face easily while rejuvenating and revealing the healthy glowing skin underneath.

Organic Ingredients Needed

The organic ingredients I use to make a pumpkin facial mask are canned pumpkin, raw honey, unsalted butter and cinnamon essential oil. You can find these organic ingredients in any whole food shop, or grocery store.

Making the Facial Mask

To make the mask you will need to add a half-cup of canned pumpkin into a puree machine with two tablespoons of raw honey, a tablespoon of butter and five drops of cinnamon oil. Then simply puree the ingredients together until you get a thick creamy orangey pumpkin pie smelling facial mask. After, scoop the mask out of the machine into a glass bowl and take it into the bathroom to apply right away to the skin. You want to use the mask right after you make it because this is when it is fresh and contains the most potent nutrients in it.

Applying the Facial Mask

The first thing I like to do before applying the mask is rinse down my face with warm water. The warm water helps open up my pores so the nutrients in the mask can really soak deep beneath the skin to help nourish it properly. Then I pat my skin dry with a towel, take a handful of the pumpkin mask and apply it to my face in a nice even layer. After I leave the mask on my skin for around twenty minutes as I do things around the house like chores, but you could sit and relax in a warm bath or read a magazine if you prefer. Once the time is up it is best to wipe off the mask with a warm wet cloth until the pumpkin mask is off. After, it is best to splash the face with cold water to close and shrink the pores back up.

After using the mask, you should notice your skin is brighter, softer and has a more even complexion. You may even notice age spots, fine lines and wrinkles have diminished dramatically.

I know every time I use this mask, which is twice a month my skin is firmer due to the vitamin C in pumpkin that helps stimulate collagen production. However, once in awhile my skin is left slightly red an irritated after using the mask, but I simply apply a facial moisturizer and that helps soothe my skin wonderfully.

Bottom Line

To keep skin naturally beautiful and free from dead skin it is best to use this homemade pumpkin facial mask two to three times per month.
