Homemade Almond Oil Sugar Scrub

My favorite homemade body scrub to use in the wintertime to help get my skin looking and feeling the best is my homemade almond oil sugar scrub. It smells heavenly and works amazingly well with exfoliating the dead layer of flaky skin on my body revealing the healthy glowing smooth skin underneath. The scrub even contains natural moisturizers in it that help condition skin so it can be soft and well hydrated.

The natural ingredients I use to make my favorite homemade almond oil sugar scrub are 1 cup of almond oil, 2 tablespoons of almond extract, 1 teaspoon of vanilla bean seeds, 2 cups of white sugar and ¼ cup of ground almonds or almond powder. These ingredients can be found in your local grocery store and even herbal store or whole food store. The ingredients can be expensive, but they do make plenty of almond oil sugar scrub.

The way I make the homemade almond oil sugar scrub is by taking the almond oil sugar scrub are 1 cup of almond oil, 2 tablespoons of almond extract, 1 teaspoon of vanilla bean seeds, 2 cups of white sugar and ¼ cup of ground almonds or almond powder and placing them into a large mixing bowl. Then I combined the ingredients together with a large spoon until I get a very oily gritty golden mixture that has a sweet aroma to it. If you find the sugar scrub to be to runny add more sugar until you achieve the thickness and texture of scrub you want to have. Once the scrub is made you can store it in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to a week until you are ready to use it. I would suggest you use it right away because I find it works better when the scrub is fresh.

The way I find best to use this homemade almond oil sugar scrub is by getting into a warm shower and soaking down the skin with plenty of warm water. This helps cleanse and soften up the skin so it is much easier to exfoliate. If you get into the shower and use the scrub right away it wont work well and might even cause your skin to become red and irritated. Anyways, once your skin is rinsed down with warm water you can take a handful or two of the almond oil scrub and begin to massage and rub it into your skin and body from head to toe using circular motions. The circular motions helps really get the dry flaky dead skin cells off gently. Once you are done exfoliating your skin and body with the scrub you can than rinse down with more warm water and pat your skin dry. After you will have silky soft glowing skin to show off.

So, next time you need a good moisturizing sugar scrub go to the kitchen and make the homemade almond oil sugar scrub. It is better for your skin and body than drugstore brands because it doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals. Plus it contains antioxidants in it that help keep skin young and beautiful looking. What more could you want from a homemade almond oil sugar scrub.
