Guide to Hershey’s Chocolate World

Hershey’s Chocolate World is a delicious day trip from New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. It is located in Hershey, PA, right down the street from the amusement park, Hershey Park. They offer free short term parking for guests.

There are several tasty attractions at chocolate world. My favorite, the Chocolate Tour Ride, is free! This free tour shows you the Hershey Chocolate making process in a silly and fun way. Be on the lookout for the singing cows. After the ride is over, get a complimentary sample of Hershey’s Chocolate. You exit through the enormous chocolate gift shop, which sells chocolate you can’t find at your local grocery store.

For around $15 dollars, you can create your own candy bar. You get to design, build and name your own specialized candy bar. You start with a milk chocolate base and add in your own special ingredients. You get to watch the bar be made in a mini factory-like setting. You design the wrapper and name your bar.

My kids were the most excited about the Hershey’s Chocolate Tasting Adventure. For under $10 each you join a guided, interactive, chocolate discussion. Best of all you get to taste different kinds of chocolate. Answer questions and you may be sweetly rewarded. After you finish, you will receive an “official” Masters Degree in Chocolate Tasting from Hershey’s University.

After you finished your chocolate tasting you can enjoy the Hershey’s Really Big 3-D Show. This 3-D experience takes viewers on a journey through Hershey’s entertaining history.

Hershey’s Kissworks is another FREE attraction. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to work in a chocolate factory, this exhibit is for you. You get to package your own Hershey’s Kisses. There are packages available for purchase to upgrade this experience. With the upgrade, you receive a factory ID badge and Hershey’s Kisses to take home.

The Hershey’s Photo Bar Wrapper Attraction is another way to personalize a Hershey’s bar. At this attraction, you get to pose for a photo and have it printed on a Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bar. You also get to personalize the phrase on the wrapper.

Hershey Trolley Works is a nice excursion that has an old time charm. The trolley conductors dress in period costumes and entertain the passengers as they take you on a tour through Chocolate Town. There is a fee for admission. The Trolleys leave from the main entrance of Hershey’s Chocolate World in rain or shine.
