Georgia Peach Cobbler – a Southern Favorite

Georgia is known as the peach state. In my neck of the woods “peach season” is one of the bright spots of summer. Local peach farmers, pick their sweet juicy peaches, from June until early September. The vine ripe, sweet, familiar smell of summer peaches, fills the aisles of Farmer’s Markets across the state of Georgia.

Peach cobbler, made from juicy Georgia peaches, is a favorite Southern summer dessert. Many people buy basket fulls of the beloved Georgia peach, to freeze and enjoy all year . When the brisk winds of fall and winter come knocking at the door, a warm from the oven, bubbly, Georgia Peach Cobbler, is a soul warming delicious dish. Make this Georgia Peach Cobbler for your family supper table, church social, or holiday get together. Georgia Peach Cobbler is sure to please any time of year.

Georgia Peach Cobbler

4 cups sliced peaches
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1 cup self rising flour
1 stick margarine

Melt margarine in a 9×12 baking dish. Mix sugar, milk and flour. Add to margarine. Add peaches and do not stir. Bake at 375 degress for 30 to 35 minutes.

Fresh, Frozen,or canned peaches can be used.
