George Foreman’s Knock-Out, Streak-Free Glass Cleaner: Worth it, If You Can Find It

While shopping in K-Mart the other day, I noticed a clearance area. Here, I found George Foreman’s Knock-Out, Streak-Free Glass Cleaner for 62 cents. I figured if George Foreman had put his name on it, then it was worth a try.

My shower door has soap scum or build up on it and I have tried everything from Windex to store-brand products. I have spent hours on it and nothing has worked.

On the back of the bottle are the directions and it tells you to spray the product onto the surface you are cleaning. Then you wipe it straight away in a circular motion with a cloth that doesn’t contain lint. It should leave a ‘sparkling’ streak free shine.

That is a joke. The first time I applied it to the shower door and wiped it as directed there was no difference to when I first started. I tried again half an hour later and still had the soap scum build up. I have now done it four times and there is soap scum build up on the shower door. I was ready to throw this bottle out of the window.

I tried the George Foreman cleaner on my mirrors and windows and have to say that it worked extremely well on these. My Windex and other products work well on the easy jobs too.

It also worked great on the chrome faucets in my bathrooms. I am planning on trying it on the windows and chrome on my car but haven’t got around to it yet.

The reason I purchased this was the discounted price but also it states on the front of the bottle that there are no harsh chemicals. It comes in a 1-quart size (32 fl. oz) trigger spray bottle.

Taken from the back of the bottle “For fast-acting results on all glass, windows, mirrors and hard surfaces including chrome, aluminum, plexiglass, eyeglasses and much more. This product contains no ammonia or alcohol. Environmentally friendly, non-toxic, non-flammable and biodegradable.”

This sounded too good to be true and it certainly was for the job I had in mind. However, I will certainly use it around the house but don’t plan on purchasing it again.

If you were lucky enough to find it at a discounted price, then I would recommend it for windows and glass.
