Funsport Play Yard by Cosco: A Review

Pregnant with my second child, I needed to stock up on the usual baby items. We already had the crib from my daughter but I wanted to get a new play yard since we got rid of the old one. After searching different stores and websites, my husband and I came across this cute play yard. The Cosco Funsport Play Yard for $42.44 at Wal-Mart.com is cute, colorful, and budget-friendly.

When my husband and I received the Cosco Funsport Play Yard, we were shocked at how heavy it was. I didn’t remember our last play yard being as heavy. My husband was at work when I decided to put this thing together and let me tell you, I was surprised at how easy it was to set up. I had read some bad reviews about the Cosco Funsport Play Yard and thought to myself that there was no way this play yard is as bad as they said it was until I tried to take it down. Maybe it was just because the play yard was brand new or maybe these other people were right but I had a lot of trouble with the buttons to collapse the play yard. It took me three tries to get the Cosco Funsport Play Yard to collapse to the point where I could pack it back up.

The Cosco Funsport Play Yard isn’t all that bad thought. I really liked the color which is like a forest green and my daughter and I both liked the cute little circus animals that encircle the inside and outside of the play yard. I also like how it comes with a carrying case and an accessory bag. It seems to be a very sturdy play yard and will not easily collapse onto baby. Like I said before, the buttons to collapse the rails are somewhat hard to use, they aren’t regular push buttons like my old play yard but more like a squeeze trigger. I’m sure once you get used to it, it will be easier to take down. I guess that’s a definite plus when you have more than one kid. My daughter won’t be able to purposely collapse the play yard onto her baby sister.

The Cosco Funsport Play Yard is easy to move from room to room thanks to the wheels on one end of the play yard. It also has a middle leg so it does not collapse in the middle under baby’s weight. This play yard also comes with the accessory bag attached right to the side of the play yard and has a carrying bag. Oh, I also wanted to mention as heavy as this play yard is and as difficult as it is to collapse, I do not recommend messing with it while still pregnant.

The Cosco Funsport Play Yard seems to be smaller than my old one, which is a good thing since I have a smaller house. It’s probably not much smaller, just seems like it. So if you want a decent play yard I would highly recommend the Cosco Funsport Play Yard. It’s cute, comfortable, (I’m sure baby would agree), and definitely fits into anyone’s budget.
