Free Healthcare Clinics in Chicago, Illinois

If you are in Chicago, and are in need of medical care, but can’t afford necessary services, don’t despair; there are places you can go to get help, and they won’t charge you a thing. I have listed a few of these free clinics to help you get the care that you need.

Community Health has been serving the uninsured in Chicago for 15 years. Located at 2611 West Chicago Avenue, Community Health offers 21 types of specialty care, including cardiology, clinical psychology, dental, dermatology, ENT, endocrinology, gynecology, neurology, ophthalmology, physical therapy, podiatry, psychiatry, and social work services, among others. They also offer free lab services to patients, courtesy of Quest Diagnostics. You can contact Community Health by visiting their website at www.communityhealth.org, or by calling 773-395-9901.

The University of Chicago offers two free student-run clinics to help serve Chicago’s uninsured citizens. Both clinics offer a full range of medical services. The clinic at Maria Shelter offers medical care for women and children, and the Washington Park Children’s Clinic offers care for babies and children. The West Town Clinic located at 2418 W. Division Street offers dental care for Chicagoans. Fees are charged on a sliding scale. To make an appointment, please call 312-744-5493, or visit http://egov.cityofchicago.org/.

The Erie Dental Health Center located at 4751 N. Kedzie Avenue offers dental care for children, pregnant women and diabetic adults. For more information, please call 312-432-4360, or visit www.eriefamilyhealth.org.

The Eleanor Wester Dental Clinic at the Howard Area Community Center is located at 7648 North Paulina Avenue, and offers general dental care for residents of all ages. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, please call 773-262-6622, or visit www.cookcountypublichealth.org

Access to Care offers comprehensive health care services to low-income uninsured individuals in the Greater Chicago area. For more information, you can visit their website at www.accesstocare.org, or call 708.531.0680 to make an appointment.

Circle Family Healthcare Network provides medical services to all Chicagoans, and no one is ever turned away for any reason. CFHN offers a full range of medical and dental services and operates four clinics in the Greater Chicago Area.
