Four Great Websites for Teenage Girls

Four Great Websites for Teenage Girls

In today’s world, the Internet is a place for the good, the bad, and the ugly. You can find lots of valuable information, but of course along with all this great information comes sources that are not so great. Teenage girls are one of the Internet’s biggest audiences, and they need websites that are going to provide them an outlet that offers true information. Listed below are four websites that have something for every teenage girl, from age 13 to 19.

1. BeingGirl. Their motto is “For girls, by girls” and their website is geared towards the preteen who is transitioning into a teenager. BeingGirl offers expert advice, music, games, articles, product info, and other topics that are all geared towards helping her through this awkward time in her life. Here she’ll find information about puberty and what to do when she gets her first period. BeingGirl even offers free samples to every girl who comes to their website. That’s right, free samples! They teach young girls about what they should expect while they’re growing up and offer lots of tools to help them through this phase.

2. Suddenly Darling. This website is a lot different than most websites you’ll come across for teenage girls. Their mission is to “promote modesty and encourage positive self worth.” In a society that is all about “less is more”, Suddenly Darling (founded by Katelyn Rose), seeks to show teenage girls that you do not have to expose your body in order to be fashionable and beautiful. Their main focus is fashion, and on the website you’ll find “What to Wear”, advice, celebrities, shops, videos, and contests. There is also a unique points system for every member- once you rack up enough points, you can win gift cards to your favorite spots, like Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, and Target! They have also established “Darlings Give Back,” a feature that showcases and awards members for the ways they have contributed to their community. Pretty cool, huh?

3. Seventeen. Every teenage girl has heard of Seventeen magazine. Well, their website is just as awesome as their magazine. Here they offer topics on fashion, hair/skin/makeup, health/sex/fitness, dating, college life, and freebies. (Who doesn’t love freebies?!) One of the best things about Seventeen is that they show teenage girls what looks best for their body types and show them where to get the clothes featured in their magazine for affordable prices!

4. Teen Vogue. Teen Vogue is definitely for the fashionista at heart. Here you’ll find subjects like blogs, quizzes, style, celebs, beauty, freebies, and careers. For any teenage girl who dreams big of one day attending fashion shows from New York to Milan, Teen Vogue is for you. A great feature about Teen Vogue is that they don’t put the same females you see in the media all the time on their covers. Recently, they’ve featured Mia Wasikowska (star of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland), and up-and-coming supermodel Karlie Kloss.
