Firefox Plugin – WeatherBug 2.0.0.4

Firefox has a plugin called WeatherBug. This plugin allows you to view the weather in the bottom of your browser, where the status bar is. It is very convenient. It sits in the status bar and doesn’t take up any space. It provides the temperature for you, three day forecast, and weather alerts. In this tutorial, I will show you how to install and use the WeatherBug Plugin for Firefox 3.

Installing WeatherBug Firefox Plugin

You will need to visit this link to go to the WeatherBug plugin page. On the plugin page, you will see the Add to Firefox button. Click that button and click Accept and Install on the next page. When the box opens, click the Install button and the download will start. When the download has finished, you will need to close your Firefox Browser for it to update. When your browser opens back up, you will need to enter your zip code in the box that opens.

Setting Up Your WeatherBug Firefox Plugin Options

Now you can change the options of the plugin. Down in your status bar where all of the weather icons are, you will see a green icon. It is the last icon in the row. When you place your mouse over it, it will say WeatherBug Options. Click the green icon one time and the options box will open.

In the options box, you can change your location, how the units are displayed, where the weather is displayed, how many days you want displayed, and where you want to go when you click on WeatherBug. Go ahead and change the options to what you want. Then click the OK button to save the options and close the box.

Using Your WeatherBug Firefox Plugin

The weather will be displayed with the temperature and any warnings that may be out for your area. If there are warnings out, you will see a red flag beside the little bug. You can click that flag and it will tell you what the alert is. The temperature will be shown along with the three day forecast unless you changed those options. To view details about the temperature or the forecast, simply click the icons. If you want to go to the homepage of WeatherBug, click the little bug icon.

If you are a weather freak and are constantly checking the weather, this is a great plugin to have. It constantly updates the temperature and lets you know when there are alerts in your area. This plugin is compatible with Firefox 3 and is free to install.
