Finding Emergency Resources in the City of Las Vegas, Nevada

None of us can ever predict the strange turns life can take.

There are times, any of us- because of illness, job loss or circumstances beyond our control- may find ourselves and our families in need of temporary assistance. Despite what some may think, asking for help when you need it is not a bad thing.

When you live in a transient city like Las Vegas, Nevada, it can be overwhelming trying to find out where to go and who to turn to when you have special emergency needs.

Although I can’t guarantee you that it will be simple to get all the assistance you might require, I have compiled a list of places you can call, email or go to, in person, for emergency assistance. If they can’t help you directly, they can advise you of other programs that are available.

Most programs require you to have ID and proof of residence (i.e.rent receipt, utility bill).

Sometimes, Everybody Needs a Helping Hand!

The purpose of providing information on these services is not to “enable” people to remain in their situation. The goal is, in fact, quite the opposite. Temporary assistance can help give a step up to those who need it.

If you are someone who doesn’t need support from any of the suggested organizatiob, then I certainly hope that you will consider either volunteering to help or making a charitable donation.

Remember, any of us could someday find ourselves in the midst of an emergency.
