This job has many openings with a salary from 34,036.00 – 34,774.00 USD per year. This job requires you to be at sea 240 days a year. To qualify for this job you need to have one (1) year of general experience as a messman and galley helper when it includes serving food, cleaning galley messes, pantry, refrigerators, range, and mess equipment. It does not have to be on board a ship, it can be in a restaurant as a waiter or busboy. They will consider education in lieu of experience which has to be in a military, vocational or other culinary school above the high school level If you have studied at a community college,30 semester/45 quarter hours can be substituted for 9 months of experience.

Another choice would be as a Data Services Specialist (GIS)with the Forest Service in one of many locations with a salary from 39,795.00 – 62,593.00 USD per year. To qualify for this position, you need to have one year of experience related to this type of work such as researching and analyzing established administrative issues; acting as liaison with individuals and groups both inside and outside an organization regarding administrative and/or organizational matters; and preparing a variety of written documents, such as staff papers, status reports, or policy recommendations. They will accept 2 full years of post graduate studies or proof that you have met the qualifications for a masters LL.B or J.D. degree .
