Early Warning Symptoms of MS

Knowing the early warning signs of diseases is the best way to control and fight them. This can also be true if you think you might have MS.

MS refers to Multiple Sclerosis. MS generally will hit a person aged 20 to 40 years old. The early warning symptoms can begin mild. In fact, the symptoms can be so mild that a person doesn’t even realize that they have a serious condition until symptoms become more apparent, more often and at a higher frequency level.

Most Common Early Warning Symptoms Of MS

The most common early warning symptoms that can indicate that a person has developed MS are:

1. Tingling.

2. Loss of balance

3. Weakness in limb or limbs (one or more)

4. Blurred or double vision

More Progressed Symptoms Of MS

As MS begins to progress so can it’s symptoms. The most common early warning symptom of MS is symptom is fatigue. This fatigue usually begins in the afternoon. It can be a physical fatigue, a mental fatigue or a combination of both forms. This fatigue can cause muscle weakness and make it harder to make decisions. One can also become sleepy or drowsy.

Other Symptoms that may begin to show as MS progresses are:

1. Muscle spasms of the arms and or legs. These spasms can begin to make it harder to move.

2. Sensitivity to heat. This sensitivity can make it harder to take hot showers and handle intense hot weather.

3. Dizziness. One may feel as if things are spinning around them. They may feel light headed, too. These feelings can occur because of nerve damage that interferes with vision and other brain impulses.

4. Impaired thinking. This can cause slower thinking. It can make it harder to concentrate and remember things.

5. Vision problems. Vision can become more blurred or double vision can happen more often. Yet, blindness is not a common symptoms

6. Strange sensations. These sensations can include pin and needle like feelings of the skin, numbness, burning or itching.

7. Swallowing and speech problems. As the disease progress, swallowing can become harder and speech can become impaired.

8. Tremors

9. Change in sex life and desire. As the body begins to change, sexual desire may decrease.

What Should You Do If You Are Experiencing These Symptoms

Each person is different. If you are having some of the above mentioned early warning symptoms of MS, it may warrant concern. It should definitely warrant a talk with your physician. Could the symptoms mean you have MS? It may or it may be signaling that another condition is presenting itself. What should you do?

1. Tell your physician about your symptoms.

2. Tell your physician if a family member has MS.

3. Ask your physician if a MRI can help diagnose whether you could have MS

4. Keep a journal of your symptoms and show it to your physician.
