E.L.F. Tone Correcting Concealer Review

Finding the right concealer for my skin has always been a struggle for me. There was also the hassle of applying it properly and the mess that can arise from it. I rarely wear makeup but having a concealer around always comes in handy for a quick fix. I’ve tried many brands over the years, from drug store brands to the more expensive stuff and I’ve found a few favorites. One concealer that I quite liked was E.L.F’s tone correcting concealer. I bought mine in the color Honey.

What I like about E.L.F tone correcting concealer is that it’s very affordable at just one dollar. Like all of E.L.F’s products this concealer is completely cruelty-free. I liked that this tone correcting concealer comes in seven shades to choose from. I found that it works well with most problem areas like blemishes, dark areas and under eye circles. It is scented and I can see how it might not be for everyone but I personally liked the light orange scent. I also liked the compact container it came in. It’s small enough for me to stick in a clutch or my pocket, making it very portable for travel. I liked the lip gloss like applicator too it made it very easy to apply under my eyes and allowed for more precision. I found E.L.F’s tone correcting concealer to be very light weight, great for the sensitive skin under my eyes. It goes on smoothly, is easy to take off and lasts a pretty long time. The times I’ve worn it I found it lasted for most of the day.

No product is without its faults and E.L.F’s tone correcting concealer has plenty of downsides to it. As I mentioned earlier it is scented, although I didn’t mind the scent many people would. If I had a choice I would prefer it unscented as well. There didn’t seem to be any shades appropriate for darker tones. All of the shades currently available are geared toward fair, light and medium tone people. Since the product is hard to find in stores you’re better off ordering it off of eyeslipsface.com but deciding on the right shade for you is all the more difficult. I also found this product to be slightly on the oily side which worries me about clogged pores. The last thing I’d like to point out is the size of the concealer. Yes, I like that it’s very compact for portability but it’s also a very small tube of concealer, probably the smallest I’ve ever seen.

Despite it’s faults I still think E.L.F’s tone correcting concealer is a good product. I would buy it again for the price and because it does what I need it to do. I would recommend it for those with fair to medium complexions only. If you have a darker complexion I’d recommend checking E.L.F’s website often because although they don’t have dark shades yet they’re always coming out with new ones.
