Those familiar with high quality anti-aging skin care may be familiar with the Wexler line. If you’re not, here’s a good introduction to the line and the woman behind it.
Dr. Patricia Wexler, founder of this skin care line, is a board certified dermatologist. Dr. Wexler specializes in dermatology of course, as well as dermatologic and cosmetic surgeries. Procedures she has performed include laser resurfacing, facial fat transplantation and full body liposuction. Specialists in her office perform collagen implants, chemical peels, and even treat skin cancer.
Dr. Wexler began her residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in 1979. She also completed a residency in the dermatology department at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
She can now be found teaching at Mount Sinai in the dermatology surgery clinic. She also has a practice in Manhattan. In 1999 Dr. Wexler received the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Award, for her excellence in cosmetic surgery.
Matrix Metalloproteinases (MMPs) are enzymes that affect skin. A few are beneficial but most destroy skin cells. We are exposed to these MMPs through sun exposure, environmental stress, aging, smoking and pollution. The Wexler skin care products feature MMPi*20™ technology, meaning the products combat the 20 MMPs that damage and age your skin.
This line is designed for use by all skin types. It provides a complete four step skin care system. Step one is a cleanser, which does not dry the skin. Step two is exfoliation to brighten the complexion. This is followed by a regenerating serum which focuses on the signs of aging. The process is completed by a moisturizer that includes an SPF of 30.
Specialty products, or “extras” are also provided by the Wexler skin care line. One such product includes the No Injection Lip Plumper. This product works by attracting moisture; it also does not sting or burn.
Another complex within this skin care line is AcnoStat™. The AcnoStat products combat acne in addition to providing anti-aging benefits. With this product, you’re even protected from the sun. The anti-acne products also utilize the MMPi technology, and feature salicylic acid to promote cell turnover. Another ingredient, trisoothal, is used to reduce redness. Trisoothal is made up of Sea Parsley, Heath and Blue Algae extracts.
Dr. Patricia Wexler’s products can be found at Bath and Body Works stores across the country, as well as at C.O. Bigelow and other select stores in New York. Complete information on where to buy can be found at the official Wexler website listed below.
