Do Fuel Saving Additives Really Work?

There is a very high demand in the market place for a product that will be able to increase a vehicle’s miles per gallon. Since there is a very high demand, the market has been flooded with products that claim to increase the fuel economy of a vehicle. The problem is some of these products are cheap imitators that do not work. There are of course some products that work very well.

What Are Fuel Saving Additives?

Applying fuel saving additives to a vehicle is a very popular way to save fuel. They can be effective, depending on which kind is used, and are relatively cheap to purchase.

Basically what an additive is, is a liquid that is usually poured into the gas tank when the car is filled up at the gas station. They all work differently, but they are able to make it so your car can get more miles for the gallon. Additives are very popular in today’s market because they are relatively cheap compared to other gas saving solutions.

What Different Additives Are There?

– Octane booster additives are applied through the vehicle’s gas tank to increase the octane rating of the gasoline. These help to save gas by raising the octane of the fuel, which will allow the vehicle to have more power to the engine, which will help it to run smoother, and not have to suck in more fuel for more power usage. This can help the vehicle to get mild decreases in fuel consumption, and increase in power.

– Another popular type of fuel saving additive is a fuel reformulator. These are also added into the gas tank when the vehicle is being filled up. The reformulators are very complicated, but to make it easy to understand, they make the actual fuel more efficient. They reformulate the fuel’s molecules to be much more spread out, instead of being in a tight cluster. This makes it so the fuel burns more efficiently, and also the engine needs to use less of the fuel at once.

– Burn rate modifier additives are also a good way to save additional fuel. These are also put in as an addition with the normal fuel. These modify the fuel itself to become more flammable. It can cause the fuel to be up to 30% more flammable, which means the engine will have to use less fuel at one time to power the automobile. Savings from this type of additive can be very noticeable.

If you are wondering which of the fuel additives you should use, then we will answer the question for you. A gas reformulator will usually work the best, depending on the vehicle of course. But these really modify the fuel to make it a lot stronger, which will cause the engine to need to use less. The reformulator is usually relatively cheap, and is well worth the money spent for the product.

There are many other additives that can be added to the vehicle to make it fuel efficient. These just seem to be the products that work the best, and to be the most reasonably priced of the group. When you are trying to figure out a cheap way to save gas without spending a fortune, make sure invest in some fuel saving additives.
