Curve Cologne by Liz Claiborne: Review

NOTE: This Curve cologne review is not to be mistaken for Curve Crush, Curve Chill, or Curve Soul. Curve cologne by Liz Claiborne is noted for its surprising versatility and particular economy. Released in 1996, the popularity of this fragrance peaked in the late nineties and early 2000’s with the younger set. Although the cologne is rarely featured in major department storesCurve may be purchased at various online retailers and multiple low cost to mid-market brick and mortar stores such as Sears and Wal-Mart.

Still, the longevity of this cologne is striking, considering that hundreds of fragrances are discontinued from season to season. Curve may be purchased in 2.5, 4.2, and 6.8 oz. sizes from $25 – $60. Of course, prices have come down considerably and securing a 4.2 oz. bottle for $30 is quite possible.

Curve is either the most breath taking “cheap” cologne ever designed, or the cheapest designer fragrance ever created. I would argue that Curve cologne is the ideal standby for the smart consumer seeking designer chic appeal – without being forced to pay designer prices. Curve wearers will also be at ease according to the fact that this scent has become more so rare over the years limiting the amount of impressionable copy catters that live to degrade the flair of any style.

This is a 5-star cologne for the price.

Curve Cologne by Liz Claiborne Ingredients and Scent

Curve cologne is the fusion of rugged outdoor scents with sandalwood, which may be described as an understated spicy mix of masculinity. Green leaf, amber, Douglas fir, pepper, cactus, and mahogany contribute the rustic element to the fragrance, while the sandalwood undertones blunt the aggression and promote the noteworthy air of fresh cleanliness to wearers.

Essentially, the scent may be described as if one were to bathe and powder himself amidst Rocky Mountain outdoor foliage. The mix is remarkably distinct.

How to Wear Curve Cologne by Liz Claiborne

Curve cologne is viable for everyday wear. In fact, legions of Curve fanatics simply refuse to apply any other fragrance. The subtle cologne will not antagonize coworkers or daytime acquaintances.

Curve is not designed to over power, but rather to blend and complement the personal aura of the wearer. In fact, onlookers often mistake the cologne for a fashionable lotion, soap bar, or even one’s natural scent.

The cologne is to be applied at the major pulse points of the body. These areas include the wrists and the base of the neck. Targeting pulse points enables one’s body heat and chemistry to intermingle with the fragrance and produce one’s personal, signature scent. The cologne is also activated in rhythmic spurts per the natural blood vessel pulse of the human body.

Also consider dabbing Curve upon your chest and behind the ears prior to attending intimate settings. First, the cologne will radiate upwards. Secondly, the placement behind the ears is strategic per crowded environments, nightclubs, and general areas featuring booming noise where female acquaintances will prefer to lean in to communicate.

Perhaps the greatest strengths of this cologne are also its inherent weaknesses. Frequent partygoers and clubbers will seek out bolder scents; and the popularity of Curve cologne has already peaked. Hence, Curve is best worn as an all – purpose daytime or early evening date night fragrance designed to supplement other lines of your personal cologne collection that should be more fashion forward.

Jean Paul Gaultier’s Le Male, Giorgio Armani’s Acqua Di Gio, and Diesel’s Only the Brave Cologne will serve as good components to any cologne rotation.
