At an anniversary party that I recently attended, a large platter of iced shrimp for shrimp cocktail was one of the food buffet items. Sitting in the middle of the shrimp ring was a bowl of seafood cocktail sauce and alongside the bowl sat two bottles of Crosse & Blackwell Seafood Cocktail Sauce. As soon as I saw the brand of seafood cocktail sauce being used, I decided to try some shrimp and I’m glad that I did.

Consistency / Texture
This tasty seafood cocktail sauce features a very pleasing consistency that is not too thick and not too thin. This tomato paste based sauce features very small pieces of what appear to be horseradish floating throughout and the sauce clings well to any type of item it is applied to. Personally, I find the consistency and mouth feel of Crosse & Blackwell Seafood Cocktail Sauce to be very satisfying.

I have eaten other brands of bottled seafood cocktail sauce and I have made the sauce from – scratch many times, but I think that Crosse & Blackwell makes the best tasting, most well – balanced bottled seafood cocktail sauce I have tried.

If you’re a fan of with seafood cocktail sauce, then you’ll appreciate the tantalizing flavor that this sauce offers. If you’ve never eaten it, think of ketchup with a horseradish kick.

The vibrant tomato base is accented well by vinegar, horseradish, worcestershire sauce, onion, red pepper and garlic. This sauce offers a very pleasant bite that lets you know it’s there, but doesn’t overwhelm. I like the flavor of Crosse & Blackwell Seafood Cocktail Sauce so much, I sometimes eat it plain and / or on crackers. On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would rate this item a 10. It should be noted that I almost never assign any products a 10 rating.

Crosse & Blackwell Seafood Cocktail Sauce is packaged in a thin and shapely glass bottle. The green and black front label features a close up illustration of a piece of shrimp and the rear label lists all pertinent ingredient and nutritional information. The bottle is easy to open and it re closes effectively.
