Colonial at Home Candles: A Review

I love scented candles. Unfortunately, most of the candles that are sold in dollar stores, drug stores and places like WalMart have very little scent and burn unevenly. When they are extinguished a puff of black smoke fills the air. They are cheaply made and not worth half the asking price.

I stumbled across Yankee Candles years ago. They were always highly scented and burned evenly. Then, around a year ago I noticed that the quality of Yankee Candles took a nose dive. They are still nicely scented but the candles burn unevenly and black soot fills the jar when extinguished. These candles, at $22 for 22 ounces should be made with finest wicks and wax. It wasn’t like I’ve had only one bad experience-my last 3 purchases have been that way. I decided to look for another brand and hopefully find the quality that was missing in the Yankee Candles that until recently were my favorites.

A month ago I went candle shopping at Linens and Things. I walked past the Yankee Candle section over to the Colonial at Home Candles and purchased a 22 ounce candle on sale for $14.99 in Apricot Mango Sorbet scent. The first thing I liked about the Colonial at Home was the jar design – a long oval. I noticed right away that the jar itself was a sturdy, heavy glass. It smelled divine and it had 2 wicks. As soon as I got home, I lit my candle and within 15 minutes the entire room was filled with a lovely apricot mango scent..

I can’t tell you how impressed I am with Colonial at Home Candles. They are richly scented and smell like the real thing. They burn evenly and there is no wax left on the jar as it burns. When the candle is extinguished there is no black smoke. I was so impressed with my Colonial at Home Candle that I went to the Colonial website: www.colonialcandle.com to see what they had to offer. I made a purchase of a 12″ taper candle and a jar candle and got free shipping. Best of all, my candles were at my door in 3 days. They even sent me a free tea light in a brand new scent they are offering and a $15 off coupon for my next purchase of $75 or up.

I’ve been back to the website several times and see that they are always offering some type of great deal like free shipping or buy 2 get 1 free. www.colonialcandle.com has sales and clearance items and offers candles, reed and electric diffusers, candle accessories and even a fragrance of the month club. They offer live chat with a product specialist. There are also many stores such as Linens and Things that offer Colonial at Home Candles. Give Colonial a try, I’m sure you’ll be as pleased as I am.
