Club Cool: Disney & Epcot’s Best Kept Secret

Club Cool, formerly known as Ice Station Cool, is located at the Innovations Pavilion at Disney’s Epcot. This hip store features Coca-Cola merchandise for sale, as well as several fountain drink stations where you can sample some of the world’s more unique flavors of Coca-Cola products.

From my own observation, most people trek on through Epcot so that they may begin their eating fest at Mexico and work their way around the world, stopping along the way to sample the delicious treats that are unique to each country. However, don’t pass by Club Cool’s non-descript building. In fact, was hard for us to find, even armed with a map. A kindly Cast Member pointed us in the right direction. It is easy to miss Club Cool unless you are specifically looking for it, which is why I think Club Cool is Epcot’s best kept secret.

Club Cool has several fountain drink stations that feature the drinks that are popular in other countries. Each station has mini Dixie cups so that you can have a free sample of each to enjoy. A list of the soft drinks available during our trip to Epcot earlier this month includes:

Krest Ginger Ale from Mozambique

Fanta Kolita from Costa Rica

Beverly from Italy

Vegeta Beta from Japan

Kinley Lemon from Israel

Lift Apple from Mexico

Smart Watermelon from China

Mezzo Mix from Germany (unavailable for taste during our trip)

I did taste all flavors and must admit that I preferred the Kinley Lemon from Israel the most. It tasted much like Sprite, but more lemony. The worst, by far, was the Beverly from Italy. Beverly is consumed in Italy as a before dinner drink that is supposed to stimulate your appetite. It must be an acquired taste, as I found this soda to be quite bitter. The Smart Watermelon from China was very fruity and did taste a lot like eating fresh watermelon.

My second favorite was the Krest Ginger Ale from Mozambique. All of these were free to taste. Considering the cost of a bottle of soda at Disney is $2 a bottle, or $2.09 plus tax for fountain drinks at the many kiosks there, a trip into Club Cool is refreshing for you, as well as your pocket book.

Visiting Epcot will give you a taste of the cuisine of many countries and a visit is not complete unless you stop into Club Cool to sample the beverages commonly consumed in other countries. Don’t miss out on Disney’s Epcot’s best kept secret!
