Cholesterol Levels Excellent Food List

Note that cholesterol is a kind of fat found in the blood of several animals. It is a kind of lipid, waxy in nature and is commonly found attached to cell membranes. It is also common in blood plasma and forms part of the human body system. Cholesterol tries to aid cells making them function perfectly. They form a permeable membrane for the cells to function well. Other common functions of cholesterol include; biosynthesis and biogenesis of the body fluids for example bile acid and certain hormones. Therefore, it is advisable to ensure proper cholesterol levels in the body so as to allow for excellent functioning of the body. The HDL cholesterol is actually very useful in the body and should be kept higher. The LDL cholesterol is sometimes referred to as bad cholesterol and should be kept as low as possible. The HDL cholesterol ensures fluidity in the cell membrane and thus should be maintained at right proportions. Many people wonder on how they should raise the good or HDL cholesterol in the body. This article provides a list of foods that can actually increase the level of the HDL cholesterol levels and at the same time lower LDL cholesterol in the body.

One of the foods to be included in your diet is actually the orange juice. Oranges are consumed in almost all parts of the world but many people do not realise their usefulness. It is true that consumption of oranges can actually make one to be free from certain complications. The work of the orange juice is to dehydrate the body cells thus increasing the level of the HDL cholesterol levels which is useful in the body. Therefore, oranges should not be overlooked simply because they can play a great low of keeping a higher level of the good cholesterol and at the same time reducing the amount of bad cholesterol.

Cocoa is also in the list of foods that can maintain cholesterol levels in normal amounts. Many people take cocoa everyday and some of them do not realise how useful it is to their bodies. Cocoa is one of the best sources of the good or HDL cholesterol useful in the body. One should ensure that he or she takes cocoa everyday in order to maintain the amount of HDL at its normal level. Research indicates that taking a quarter cup of cocoa is everyday consecutively for twelve weeks can increase the level of HDL cholesterol by almost 25 percent.

Eggs are also good when it comes to adding HDL cholesterol into the blood stream. These eggs are actually accompanied by proteins which are very useful in body building. Therefore, apart from raising cholesterol levels in the body, eggs are also capable of building the body due to availability of huge amounts of proteins. For eggs to function well in addition of HDL cholesterol in the body, they should be boiled instead of frying. Boiling will preserve many nutrients in these eggs unlike frying. The last kind of food that can raise the level of HDL cholesterol is fish. They boost the level of HDL cholesterol due to useful fats known as omega-3 fats.
