Children Birthday Venues in Houston

Looking for a great party venue in Houston for your little one to celebrate his or her birthday? Well look no further as I list six of the most popular venues in town to help you plan the best birthday party your child will never forget.

Chuck E. Cheese: Chuck E. Cheese has always been a staple for children’s birthday parties. With packages ranging from $11.99-16.99 per child, the party will include a reserve table for 90 minutes, tokens for each child (number of tokens depends on the package you choose), dedicated host/hostess, 2 slices of one topping pizza, unlimited drinks, foil balloon bouquet and Chuck E. Cheese lunch box for the birthday boy/girl, 100 tickets for the birthday child, stickers, medallion, goody bags for the guests and a birthday show starring your child and the legendary Chuck E. Cheese. With the 16.99 package, a plush toy and 3D cup are issued to each guest. There’s not a limit to how many guests you can have, so the price per child will remain the same. The downsize for both packages is that the birthday cake is not provided, therefore you will have to bring your own cake, but this is still a great place to go to have a great time and see the huge smile on your child’s face. If you would like to find a location near you or to reserve your child’s party, please go to Chuck E. Cheese’s website at http://www.chuckecheese.com/.

Good Tip: If you reserve your party during the week, not only will you beat the huge crowds on the weekend, but you can have unlimited time at your reserved table and receive $7.00 in extra tokens for each child.

Incredible Pizza Company: Incredible Pizza Company is similar to Chuck E. Cheese but has more rides and games for children can enjoy. There are three party packages to choose from, which prices range from $49.99 to $179.99. For the birthday boy/girl and his/her 10 guest, each package will include a party entertainer inside the private party room for 90 minutes, tickets (the number of tickets depend on the package you choose), party bag and birthday sticker for the birthday child, a choice of a birthday cake or piñata, invitations and thank you cards, and unlimited food from the buffet. For the Incredibly FUN Birthday Package, a $5 dollar game card will be included for each guest as well as one free attraction of the child’s choice for all the kids, while the WACKY Birthday Party Package give the birthday child and guests an hour of unlimited WACKY play inside the amusement mall. And if you choose the WACKY Birthday Package and if the party is booked during the week, 30 extra minutes of play time will be added onto the party for free! Additional fees, for example, extra guests, and play time, are charged an additional fee, so decide how many children will be attending. If you would like more information, please go onto Incredible Pizza’s website at http://www.incrediblepizza.com/locations.php.

Good Tip: If you are going to purchase the cheaper plan, keep in mind that items mentioned in the other two plans will not be in the $49.99 plan and will be charged a separate fee (for example, the cake). So plan accordingly to which plan would be better for you to spend and what you want to have for your child’s party.

Dylan’s Candy Bar: Dylan’s Candy Bar may be the most unusual place to hold a child’s birthday party, mainly because the parents will feel like it’s their birthdays too with all the fun treats display throughout the store. A party here will range from different prices, depending on how many guests will attend, with as little as 8 to 13 guests maximum. For the mini package, (the group of 8), features will include the party room for 60 minutes, a staff member for the entire duration, a choice of 2 drinks, cake and ice cream. For the standard package, (party of 13), the features include the party room for 90 minutes, 2 staff members, invitations and paper supplies, candy decorations and balloons, choice of 2 drinks, cake and ice cream, 1 candy craft activity, 2 games and contests. If neither plans suits you, you can build your own party, by adding your choice of games, crafts, entertainers, and catering for a per person charge. Also, food is not provided by the store, therefore you will have to bring your own food if necessary. The minimum age to have a party at Dylan’s Candy Bar is 3 years old. Before your party, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your reservation. The remaining balance is due the day of the party. To find out the costs of each package or to browse the website, feel free to go to http://www.dylanscandybar.com/index.cfm for more information.

Good Tip: Depending on the price, it probably would be better to build your own party, that way it could save you a little money in your pocket as well as you and your child can choose the activities you want instead of someone else choosing for you.

The Little Gym: What better way to plan a unique and fun-filled birthday than at The Little Gym. With their Awesome Birthday Bash, the guest of honor and his/her guests will have the entire facility to themselves to take part in various activities, games, and extensive use of the gym’s equipment for 90 minutes. Depending on the size of your party, one or two staff members will be on hand to help setup (which include party supplies) send out invitations, conduct a special class for the entire party, hand out party favors to the guests, and cleanup afterwards. Packages vary by each location, so to find out more information as well as a location near you, please go onto The Little Gym’s website at http://www.thelittlegym.com/Pages/default.aspx.

Good Tip: Although The Little Gym provides all the basics for the party, food is not included, so plan accordingly what type of food you would want the children to eat at the party.

Build-A- Bear Workshop: If your child loves teddy bears, then having a birthday party at Build-A-Bear will definitely be the ultimate gift. For a scheduled party, each guest can get to make their own stuffed animal, in which a party leader will guide every guest through the steps of personalizing their animals. Also included in the party is a photo, party favors for each guests, printable party invitations and thank you cards, and online information for more party fun on buildabearville.com. The cost of a party at Build-A-Bear depends on you and how much you want to spend. Prices range from $10 to $25 dollars per guest, so tell your party leader how much you want to spend and they will make sure that each guest has a great time on your budget. A deposit is required to reserve the party date and 6 or more guests are required to book a party. To find a phone number to the nearest location or to find out more about party information, please log onto http://www.buildabear.com/ for complete details.

Good Tip: Food and drinks are not allowed inside the store, so planned accordingly if you want to serve food for guests at home or going to a restaurant before arriving at Build-A-Bear.

Houston Zoo: Celebrate your child’s birthday in a festive and lively way as children get to experience a day at the Zoo. With this birthday package, the Zoo offers 30 admission tickets for adults and/or children and rental for the party pavilion for two hours. Guests are free to explore the zoo throughout the day, but the actual party inside the pavilion is only reserved for a two hour timeslot, which you can schedule in the morning, early afternoon or early evening. You can also add on various activities to your party such as An Animal Experience (in which a Children’s Zoo keeper brings 2 touch animals for the children to interact with), which cost $200 for 30 minutes, a face painter for $350 dollars, carousel tickets, standard goody bags, or extra admission tickets. Food is also served to the guests, but at an extra fee. If you rather save money, you can bring your own food to the party. The price for a party at the Zoo is a little pricier compared to the other party venues, especially if you add on any other features. If you want to have the party inside or outside the pavilion, the cost for Zoo Members is $225 outdoors and $275 indoors. For nonmembers, the prices are $275 outdoors and $325 indoors. For more information or to schedule your child’s birthday, please go to www.houstonzoo.org or send an email at birthday.parties@houstonzoo.org.

Good Tip: If your heart is set on throwing your child’s birthday party at the Zoo, try to eliminate items that are unnecessary or out of budget. Instead of buying food from the Zoo, bring your own, and make your own goody bags to give to guests instead of purchasing bags for $5 each.
