Chad Ochocinco’s VH1 Reality Show Gets the Axe Following Domestic Violence Arrest

Bad news continues to surface for Chad Ochocinco after his arrest for domestic violence over the weekend.

According to a rep from VH1, the 34-year-old athlete’s soon-to-premiere reality show featuring himself and his new wife, Evelyn Lozada, has been cancelled. The spokesperson told Gossip Cop, “Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series ‘Ev & Ocho’ from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it.”

The reality show, which was set to feature the pair’s Fourth of July nuptials, was slated to air on September 3.

Johnson is alleged to have head-butted his reality star wife Evelyn Lozada after she found a Walgreens receipt for condoms in the trunk of their car when she went to carry shopping bags into the house.

As more details surrounding his domestic violence dispute begin to surface, it looks like Chad Ochocinco is not only facing misdemeanor charges… but the possible end of his career, as well.

The Miami Dolphins reportedly cut the wide receiver from the team just hours after he was released from jail on Sunday morning (August 12) on a $2,500 bond.

A police report obtained by TMZ states, “The two then sat inside their black Smart Car that was parked in the driveway. . . . They began talking about the sales receipt and their marriage. As they were talking, Johnson became upset and without (her) permission grabbed her and head-butted her.”

The police report goes on to explain that Lozada “fled on foot to a neighbor’s house to get away from Johnson” and “Johnson began driving the neighborhood looking for (her). She hid at her neighbor’s house until they arrived home. At this time, they called police.”

Lozada was later treated at West Side Regional Hospital for a “laceration on the center of her forehead, approximately 3 inches in length.

Talking to officials, Chad admitted that he and his wife got into an argument but claims that Lozada was the one who struck him.
