CECT IPhone I9 Review

Although the P168 and its quad band successor, the plus, has ruled the roost for quite some time, the CECT i9 has displayed an edge over both, and stands out among the iPhone clones. But when the hype is cut short, does the i9 really deliver? Also, is it worth the price tag it carries? I’ll answer these burning questions as we review the i9 iPhone.

Let’s just say that the i9 leaves the original 168 trailing behind. The 168 was no doubt a fantastic gadget of its kind and was remarkably close to the iPhone; but the i9 has come even closer. Among many other features that I will discuss later, a feature that stands out in the i9 is that it is Java enabled, and therefore third party applications and software can be downloaded giving it expandability. This means that the office bug can run window’s applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook that was not possible before. Also, the gamester can freak out on captivating Java games.

Another interesting feature is the increased memory. The memory of the i9 can be expanded up to 8GB as compared to the 2GB of the original. Yes, it was earlier available with 4GB, but recent handsets are packing the whopping 8GB of memory.

Sleek and elegant in appearance, the i9 is a tad slimmer, smaller and lighter. It has manageable dimensions and suits the user’s ego as well as his pocket as a new generation phone.

The i9 is compatible with all GSM networks and carriers and it also features quad band, especially suitable to choosy 850MHz users. The advanced “shake and tilt” feature, lacking in the original iClone enables the user to browse through photos, music and media files by a slight jerk of the wrist. You can change the song playing just by shaking the phone. This feature is quite responsive and users tend to prefer it to the finger flicking versions.

Before I wind up, one feature that is worth mentioning is the “dual sim” capabilities of the i9 which is highly preferred by high-end users. While other dual sim phones can connect to only one sim at a time, the i9 can keep both sims online. So, you do not have to select sims by using the phone menu. You are in control and can use both sims as and when preferred. Your home and office will both have access to you at the same time through separate sims. So you can be in touch with your business associates while you are connected to the net, and don’t have to miss any calls.

The i9 sports a 2MP camera and does not miss out on any conventional features such as watching movies, listening to music, sending IMs and email, tuning in to FM, reading e-books and transferring data using Bluetooth.

At $100, the features more than justify the price, and therefore, in my opinion, the i9 is not at all pricey. The i9 is packed to the brim with amazing features, and is definitely my pick as far as clones are considered.
