Can a Golf Ball Really Define the Type of Golfer You Are?

Many people seem to believe that the type of golf ball you play has no effect or very little effect on the type of shots you will hit. Some people believe just the opposite, that the type of ball you use will define how well you actually play that round. I am here to tell you that the ball you play with will have some effect on your round. It’s obviously not the only variable, as you need to have a little skill to make it from tee to green, but with all the different variations in balls out there you should be able to find the appropriate ball for you.

When it comes to golf balls you can find just about any ball to match the way you play, or even help correct the way you miss hit the ball. Some brief examples of the different variations of golf balls include those that are hard, soft, made for distance, made for accuracy, or quite possibly the ball that might have it all the Titleist PRO V 1. When you begin to understand the way you hit the ball is when you will begin to understand which ball suits you the best.

Like I said before there are golf balls out there that are hard. Some are almost like hitting a rock. Now your probably saying to yourself who would want to hit a ball that some would say resembles a rock. Those people would be the people that slice or hook the ball consistently. A hard ball can be great off the tee with the driver because the ball is not going to get as much spin put on it as say a soft golf ball. The only problem is once you get off the tee, hitting a hard golf ball with your irons can be very difficult. This is why many people stray away from these types of balls, because they would rather take a little less club off the tee to reduce slice, and then have a softer ball for their irons.

Soft golf balls obviously do exactly the opposite of a hard golf ball. Instead of very little spin, these balls are designed for spin. Now if you are someone that has a tendency to put unwanted spin on the driver, then you are probably going to want to keep away from these balls. You will find yourself slicing or hooking the ball more drastically, because the spin that causes these forces will be magnified because of how soft the ball is. Now if you are someone that has the driver dialed in then a soft ball might just be what your previous rounds may have been missing. If you can consistently hit the fairways then a soft ball is going to make hitting all your irons a lot easier.

Now one of the most famous if not the most famous golf ball is the PRO V 1. This golf ball was designed by Titleist for only the best golfers. This ball can actually make it harder for the average golfer, but for the above average golfer, having a PRO V 1 can make any round a lot easier. This ball seems to have it all. If you hit the driver properly it is always straight off the tee, yet it is extremely soft and nice to hit with the irons. The only downsides are like I said it can actually hurt an average or below average golfer, and the price of the golf ball. These balls usually run as the most expensive ball out on the market. If you feel you are ready for a PRO V 1 and believe you can afford it, then I would highly recommend getting a dozen.

Choosing the right golf ball for you is all about trial and error. If you have never put much thought into your golf ball, then you may want to start if you are looking to start improving your golf rounds. The proper golf ball can be what decides a good round over a bad round. If you are having trouble with the driver then a harder golf ball may be for you, however it will be harder to hit the irons. Soft balls do exactly the opposite. They maker it harder to hit the driver but easier to hit the irons. Now if you feel you are an above average golfer, that is willing to spend a little money then a PRO V 1 may be the right choice for you.
