Blistex Deep Renewal Review

In the fight against aging the lips tend to get over looked. People often don’t realize that the lips age too, if you’ve ever taken the time to look at an elderly person’s lip or simply look at old pictures of your parents and look them now you’ll see the difference. Age is something that can’t be avoided but that doesn’t mean you can’t slow down the appearance of aging. As you get older your lips lose their plumpness, as well as moisture which causes them to peel and crack more easily. I’ve always been a fan of Blistex, it’s a lip product that doesn’t irritate my lips and helps keep them soft and moist. Recently I came across a new Blistex product called Deep Renewal. Deep Renewal is a lip balm that’s design to reduce the visible signs of aging, provide moisture, as well as provide them with sun protection. I’ve tried this product out for several months and here are my thoughts.

According the Blistex website their Deep Renewal contains Coenzyme Q-10 which is suppose to be the best for moisturization and revitalization. The Hyaluronic filling spheres is meant to give lips a fuller look. It’s the stuff that dermatologists and plastic surgeons use to fill in wrinkles. Blistex’s Deep Renewal also contains a vitamin-collagen anti-oxidant complex, light refractors and an SPF 15.

The first thing I noticed was the taste, it had sort of a mild sweet flavor to it, not so strong that it bothered me but it was enough for me to notice. The taste didn’t bother me I quite preferred it to the petroleum jelly taste that I typically get from my usual Blistex. I liked that it went on very smoothly, I was worried it would go on sort of clumpy. It was very moisturizing and kept my lips moist for several hours before I had to reapply, which is a difficult feat considering I drink a lot of water and have a habit of wiping my mouth quite frequently. I definitely like that it lasts longer than my regular Blistex lip balm and thus it lasted longer too. Blistex Deep Renewal gave my lips a cooling sensation, something I quite like about Blistex products because it doesn’t make my lips feel heavy and oily the way Chapstick makes it feel. The first couple of days I didn’t notice much of a difference in the appearance of my lips, then again I’m only in my mid-twenties so I didn’t really expect much in that department. I have noticed that although my lips are full that they’re not as full as they were when I was a teenager and I’ve noticed the lines more on my lips. After a week of using this product I started to see the difference. There were less lines in my lips and they did appear to look plumper.

The only downside to all of this is that it costs a tad more than a regular tube of Blistex, but I guess in the end it works out because I didn’t have to reapply it as often. Thedoes say that it only works and keeps working if you keep using the product, so it’s not some sort of miracle lip balm that’s meant to fix anything permanently. Overall I thought that Blistex Deep Renewal did what it was suppose to so I would definitely recommend it.
