Best Las Vegas Hotels for Seniors

When writing this article about the best Las Vegas hotels for seniors, I am assuming a few things. I am assuming that a senior in Las Vegas will want to be around people close to their own age. I am also assuming that a senior in Las Vegas would prefer not to be around ruckus crowds, loud bars and night clubs, and not around a bunch of screaming twenty-somethings. If you are a senior, or traveling with a senior to Las Vegas, and fit (or they fit) these qualifications, read on.

It should be noted that there are some Las Vegas hotels that are great for seniors that are left of this list for a reason. It should be pointed out that the more expensive casinos such as Bellagio, Wynn, and Venetian are great for seniors, but are out of the price range of most retired folks. All three of these locations would be placed very high on this list of the best Las Vegas hotels for seniors, but I did not believe that it would behoove me to go into detail.

It should also be noted that the casinos downtown have also been left off of this list. All of the smaller casinos downtown do what they can to bring in the older crowd. In recent years, though, more of a younger crowd has become prevalent downtown because of the lower prices. Keep this in mind when booking a room.

Caesar’s Palace

The initial Las Vegas hotel on the list for the best Las Vegas hotels for seniors actually breaks a few of the rules that I have already established. There are a few clubs at Caesar’s palace that can get loud, and a few rowdy clubs, but the staff makes up for these in the eyes of seniors.

Caesar’s Palace has one of the most experienced staffs in all of the city. Many of them have learned to make senior’s stay in Las Vegas from decades of experience. There are many of the newer casinos that forget that sometimes seniors need a little more time, or a little extra help, but the staff at Caesar’s Palace never do. This makes it one of the best Las Vegas hotels for seniors.

Flamingo

The old Flamingo is one of the last remaining sites in Las Vegas that remind seniors of what Las Vegas used to be. Like Caesar’s Palace, a more experienced staff is willing to take the extra time that you might need. While they also have a few louder location on their property, most of them are away from the crowds.

Tropicana

One thing that you will notice pretty quick when you head over to the Tropicana is that there is a very sizable difference here between the number of seniors, and the number of twenty-somethings. Tropicana has tried to pride itself for many years that it is one of the best Las Vegas hotels for seniors. They have done this at the cost of alienating many in the younger crowd, but they do not appear to mind.

Bally’s

Bally’s still holds a lot of the old Vegas mentality. They know that by making service the key, and catering to the needs of everyone that walks through the door, they will last a very long time. This has caused for more of an influx of the senior crowd, and an outflux (if I can use the incorrect term) of the younger crowd. Since seniors are taking over Bally’s it ends up on the list of the best Las Vegas hotels for seniors.

Luxor

A host that has taken care of me in the past at Luxor stated that his property realized very early that they needed the older crown around to keep them going. When they first opened up, Luxor was considered to be one of the best Las Vegas hotels for seniors. While it is still on the list, it has dropped a little in the last year since it has done away with most of the Egyptian theme and replaced it with more youth-orientated décor.

While there are many great locations to stay at in Las Vegas, these locations have proven themselves to be the best Las Vegas hotels for seniors. In a few years, some of these names may have changed as casinos go the way of the dinosaur (sorry for the analogy) or attempt to change their target crowd. Remember, just a few years ago, Aladdin, the Sands, and the Desert Inn would have been on this list.
