Best Hallmark Ornaments of 2008

When I was just a wee lad, my mother owned a Hallmark store. Every year my mother would bring home Hallmark ornaments from her store and I soon be came a collector. Even though my mom no longer owns a Hallmark store, she gets the ornament catalog every year. I pick out the ornaments I want and she brings them home. These are the best Christmas ornaments that Hallmark has to offer in 2008.

Best Hallmark Ornaments of 2008: Baby’s First Christmas

The first Christmas with a new child in the family is always a special time. I believe every year Hallmark has several Baby’s First Christmas ornaments and this year they have four more. My favorite is easily the Baby’s First Christmas that has a baby’s bottle with a Christmas tree inside.

Best Hallmark Ornaments of 2008: Beagle Scout Day Out, Peanuts

The Peanuts have ornaments just about every year and almost every year I buy one. More specifically I usually buy the Snoopy ornaments. In this ornament Snoopy and Woodstock are all dressed up like boy scouts and are riding in a canoe.

Best Hallmark Ornaments of 2008: Classic American Cars #18

This year’s Classic American Cars ornament is 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. Honestly it’s kind of bland but I have all 17 cars in the series so far so I’m not about to stop now.

Best Hallmark Ornaments of 2008: Deck the Planet, Wall-E

Wall-E was a big hit this year and you can buy his first ornament this year. In this ornament Wall-E apparently decided to do some decorating but got himself wrapped up in the Christmas lights.

Best Hallmark Ornaments of 2008: Halloween, Peanuts Gang

What better way to celebrate Christmas than with some Halloween ornaments! In this set of four ornaments you get four Peanuts characters from the Great Pumpkin special. It includes Pigpen in his ghost costume, Lucy with her witch’s hat, Snoopy bobbing for apples and Charlie Brown with a pumpkin? What? No Linus?

The new ornament in the Harley Davidson series is much better than the new ornament in the American Classic Cars Series. This year’s Harley Davidson ornament is a 2008 XL 1200N Sportster 1200 Nightster.

Best Hallmark Ornaments of 2008: I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas

I love the Hallmark ornaments that have sound and this is one of this year’s best choices. This ornament plays the classic “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” and in the ornament Santa Claus is doing his best to stuff a hippopotamus down the chimney.

Best Hallmark Ornaments of 2008: Indiana Jones

Unfortunately this Indiana Jones ornament is no doubt in honor of the new crappy Indiana Jones movie but I’ll get it and pretend like it’s from one of the good movies.

Unfortunately this is not the Heath Ledger Joker that everybody has been talking about in 2008 but the cartoon/comic book Joker is still a great choice for an ornament.

Best Hallmark Ornaments of 2008: Noah’s Ark

Decorating the tree and getting presents is fun but Christmas is still about the birth of Jesus. I enjoy the religious ornaments a lot and this ornament of Noah’s Ark is one of my favorites. Although I don’t think Noah really had a Christmas tree on the ark.

Best Hallmark Ornaments of 2008: Pac Man

The Pac Man ornament is one of my two favorite ornaments of 2008. This ornament is of the Pac Man arcade machine. When you press the button on the Pac Man arcade it lights up and plays all the classic music and sound effects from the Pac Man arcade game.

Best Hallmark Ornaments of 2008: Space Ghost

I was shocked (in a good way) to see Space Ghost ornament this year. Even when Space Ghost was still on the air he wasn’t really popular enough to make an ornament so I’m not sure why they decided to make an ornament of him now. I’m glad they did though.

Best Hallmark Ornaments of 2008: Statler and Waldorf, Muppet Show

The Statler and Waldorf ornament is the second of my two favorites. In this ornament Statler and Waldorf are sitting in their usual balcony seats to watch the Muppet Show. If you press the button on the ornament then Statler and Waldorf will say some of their famous insults from the show.

Best Hallmark Ornaments of 2008: Tick-Tock Croc

This is easily my favorite non-sound ornament of 2008. This ornament is from a scene of the Disney classic Peter Pan when Captain Hook falls overboard and he tries to avoid being eaten by the crocodile.

Best Hallmark Ornaments of 2008: Viewmaster

This is an ornament of the classic Viewmaster toy. The best part is that it comes with three feels of the Night before Christmas. You can insert the little reels into the little Viewmaster and ornament and it actually works!
