Baby Products for Sensitive Skin

Baby skin is delicate. Even more delicate is sensitive baby skin, which prompts parents to look for baby products especially for sensitive baby skincare. I have plenty of experience in trial and error with baby products for sensitive skin. Four of my kids used to battle eczema and other sensitive skin issues. Some baby products worked well, while many others did not make the grade. Here are some of the best baby products we have used for sensitive skin.

Dove Bar Soap for Sensitive Skin

For some time, other than natural clear glycerin soaps, those with sensitive skin did not have much choice but to endure scented and dyed products. Dove Sensitive Skin bar soap gives those with sensitive skin a fragrance free and dye free cleansing choice. Because of its sensitive skin design, pediatricians often recommend Dove Sensitive Skin bar soap for baby skincare. A great feature of Dove soap is that it contains moisturizers, in addition to cleansing properties.

Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion, Fragrance Free

Pediatricians have recommended this product to me and apparently, they aren’t alone. The 8 oz tube mentions that this baby lotion has been pediatrician recommended. This lotion is very effective in moisturizing sensitive skin in babies. This lotion lists far less ingredients than many moisturizers, which likely means there is more moisturizer than chemicals. This one, we still use for the whole family, even though it’s been a couple years since a baby has been in the house.

A+D Ointment (Original)

An often looked-over baby skincare moisturizer that helps with sensitive skin eczema is the original A+D Ointment. If a baby has sensitive skin issues, such as an eczema breakout or a diaper rash, the original A+D Ointment is a good skincare regimen until it clears up. It also is good for regular use in babies with extra dry skin. Because it has a thick consistency, only a small amount is required.

All Free & Clear Laundry Detergent

One detergent that I have found to be excellent for sensitive skin is All Free & Clear. This laundry detergent is fragrance free and dye free. Pediatricians often recommend this laundry detergent for baby skincare, especially in the case of eczema. It also works great on cleaning the clothing and removing stains. Upon switching from scented laundry soap to All Free & Clear, my children did experience less severe bouts of eczema.

Huggies Baby Wipes for Sensitive Skin

When it comes to baby skincare,in the past, pediatricians would warn about the use of baby wipes. That was before Huggies came out with their sensitive skin baby wipes. There are a few different varieties of sensitive skin baby wipes offered by the Huggies brand. Huggies baby wipes have been a staple for all of my children. I feel these are the gentlest on sensitive baby skin. In my experience, other brands often are flimsy and too infused with fragrance and chemicals.
