A Review of New York Garlic Bread Sticks

Here’s a spicy little kicker for your meals – New York Garlic Bread Sticks. Of course, an Italian meal is the likeliest place you’ll find breadsticks, but I like using New York Garlic Bread Sticks as an accompaniment for many of my meals, including fish, chicken, and salad-based meals.

New York Garlic Bread Sticks won a 2008 Chef’s Best Award for “Best Taste” – no wonder, because these breadsticks have to be my absolute favorite bread product that I can find in my grocer’s frozen section! The “Award Winning Taste” touted on the New York Garlic Bread Stick box really does translate to a soft and delicious bread dish that I can serve with confidence to my family – because they like these breadsticks, too!

How to Prepare New York Garlic Bread Sticks in the Oven

While the New York Garlic Bread Sticks carton doesn’t have any microwave instructions, you’ll be pleased to know that these tasty breadsticks bake up quickly in a conventional oven or toaster oven.

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees, place the breadsticks on a cookie sheet or tin foil and then let them bake for 6 minutes or until a nice, golden brown.

Toaster oven instructions require a 375-degree setting and a shorter 4-minute cooking time. Be sure you lay your breadsticks on a cookie sheet or foil when baking in a toaster oven.

One tip I recommend given past experience is to let your breadsticks thaw for just a minute before taking them apart and placing them into an oven. The 6 breadsticks come bundled together in a plastic bag – and can freeze that way! I’ve nearly broken the breadsticks in the past trying to separate them from each other after taking them straight out of the freezer. A minute or two of thawing may help you avoid this inconvenience.

Flavor

The garlicky flavor of the New York Garlic Bread Sticks is smooth and delicious. While some people may think there is a bit too much garlic spread on these breadsticks, I happen to think that the amount of spread used helps make these breadsticks taste all the more deliciously moister.

Be warned that a napkin is required when eating these breadsticks! Once the spread gets onto your fingers, it gets onto everything else, too.

Nutrition Facts

While there is a hearty helping of spread on the New York Garlic Bread Sticks, you’ll be surprised to learn that the food label doesn’t look as bad as you may expect for such a bread product. Be sure you take a look at the pleasant numbers attached to the cholesterol and trans fat entries. For each 1-breadstick serving, there are:

1.5 grams saturated fat
0 grams trans fat

Depending on where you buy the New York Garlic Bread Sticks, you’re looking to pay between $2.50 and $3.25 for a box of 6 breadsticks – but they make an absolutely essential part of any meal. And I’m sure when you try them once, you’ll find yourself buying them again and again. Look for New York Garlic Bread Sticks in the bread section of your grocer’s frozen aisle.
