Why Friendships and Horoscopes Don’t Mix

Deserted Island

Friendship has nothing to do with Horoscopes

Most people have a family and many friends who are very important to them. That being said, it has been claimed that if people find a few close friends in their lives they are very lucky. Having friendships are a part of a cultural and social process of life; however I don’t believe that friendship has much to do with horoscopes.

Most people have a loving family and a good set of friends that they feel close to and also feel that they can count of them through good times and bad times. All relationships are a part of a cultural and social process of life. Human beings need friendships in order to survive and thrive in the world. By nature, human beings are social animals who need other people around them in order to communicate effectively. In other words, human beings don’t live in a vacuum or on a deserted island even though some people might wish that they did live on a deserted island. A friendship blossoms over time. I have known my two best friends for over twenty years. I met Jenny when I was playing on the playground and I meet Leslie on my first day of third grade in California. A friendship is based on mutual like, respect, trust, understanding, and having fun with your friend or friends. Friendships have very little or nothing to do with horoscopes. This notion seems absurd to me. Horoscopes are just fun little columns in the newspaper and I don’t think that horoscopes have much scientific value at all. People who believe that there is a scientific basis behind horoscopes seem to be confusing astrology with astronomy.

Friendships develop over time and are fun and worthwhile. A friendship allows the people who are in the friendship to grow as they learn new information about each other. Friendships allow people to socialize with each other. People usually make friends with others who are somewhat similar to them. For instance, Leslie and I found out that we both liked sports and because of Leslie I now understand and enjoy basketball more than I used to. Also, Leslie and I enjoy each other company. Before meeting me, Leslie didn’t like to wear dresses or like to read; now she does both. I guess what I am getting at is that friendship and horoscopes have nothing in common and one doesn’t any much if anything to do with the other. Sure, reading horoscopes is fun; who wouldn’t want to think that today was the day that riches beyond their wildest dreams were coming their way or that today would be the day that they would meet their true love or find a wonderful and fulfilling new career. However, Horoscopes are pure entertainment only and a friendship may begin with the discovery that two people share a love of reading their horoscopes; however true and real friendship is based on much more than just a love of reading horoscopes daily; or at least it better be or the friendship will not last a long time. In addition, I have no idea what Indian horoscope matching involves but I am almost certain that it has very little to do with friendship. I think that Indian horoscope matching has to do with the amount of Indian tribes that exists in the United States and that the Indian tribes that have a friendship with each other might attempt to match up men and women to be married in order to keep the tribes in existence. However this is just a somewhat educational guess. In addition to the Indian tribes I know that the in Chinese culture there is the year of a certain animal and that each animal has a certain personality that is more compatible with certain animal and that each person is a certain animal depending on the year of their birth. It is believed in Chinese culture that certain people with certain animal signs should marry people with only certain animal signs. However, nowhere in Chinese culture is it written that each animal can’t be friends with another animal. Therefore, I don’t understand how horoscopes and friendship go together.
