Baseball fans walking up to Citizens Bank Park for a Phillies game will be in awe of how the stadium flows into the Philadelphia landscape. The field was built over 20 feet below the street to blend into the background and its four entrance gates replicate the four squares spread throughout the city.

Visitors with extra time before or after the game should spend time walking around the area surrounding the park. The Phillies built a memorial to honor all veterans that is on Pattison Avenue near the former site of Veterans Stadium.

Finding something delicious to eat at Citizens Bank Park is not hard to do no matter what a fan might be craving. The Food Network rated it the “Best Ballpark Eats” five years ago and for three years it was rated the Number 1 Vegetarian Ballpark. Besides receiving accolades for the ballpark’s food, its mascot the Phillie Phanatic was named the best sports mascot two years by Forbes magazine.

Some of the food items that are fan favorites include roast pork sandwiches at Tony Luke’s concessions and crab fries at Chickie’s and Pete’s. Of course, the stadium has some of the best Philadelphia cheesesteak sandwiches in town. In addition to the concession options, the ballpark is home to two restaurants. These are Harry The K’s Broadcast Bar & Grille and McFadden’s Restaurant. McFadden’s Restaurant is open every day even if there is not a game.

There is one area of the park that no fan will want to miss during their visit for a game. The Ashburn Alley is home to the team’s All-Star Walk, Wall of Fame, and shopping. Visitors can also look into the bullpens which are built bi-level to allow people to view in to see the pitchers warming up.

Single game tickets range in price from $17 to $70 on the team’s website. These tickets can be bought as Power Tickets which include a $10 concession and merchandise credit that can be used at the game. The main ticket office is at the First Base Gate. On game days additional windows open around the park.

Anyone looking for special seats will enjoy purchasing a ticket for the Hall of Fame Club. The area has over 2,500 indoor seats and large screen televisions showing the game. It also has a full bar and high end food choices. The Club is home to the Cooperstown Gallery which has oil paintings of all of the city’s Hall of Fame players.

In addition to the Hall of Fame Club, the Diamond Club is a members only area which has seating behind home plate. The Club includes a full buffet prior to games and views of the indoor batting cages used by players before the games.

After enjoying all of these amenities, game fans should make sure to keep an eye out for the Liberty Bell Home Run Spectacular. The neon liberty bell lights up then rings swaying side to side on its sign in center field after every home run by the team.
