Very Cheap Cinco De Mayo Gift Options

Cinco De Mayo is a fun holiday here in the United States, barely brushing upon the holidays Mexican roots but used as more of a social, party event. Some following ideas will prove to be inexpensive, festive and fun!

10. Mexican hot sauce. A small, inexpensive bottle of Habanero or Jalapeno sauce would be a great and festive gift for someone. You can pick this item up at any grocery store for about $2.

9. An Imported Mexican beer or Tequila would be a good adult gift for Cinco De Mayo. Examples could include Modelo, Dos XX’s, or Corona, or Jose Cuervo, Sauza or Patron Tequila. Prices would range from $6.00 to about $40.

8. A mix tape of the most popular Spanish music would be a great gift. You can compile the songs from a website like Mixtapesusa.com or this weeks Billboard charts in International, and download the songs right from the internet. Total cost after burning the songs onto a disk would only be about $.50.

7. Have you visited Mexico or a great outdoor market recently? Mexican blankets prove to be inexpensive whether you buy them in the States or in Mexico. Ranging from $3 to $10 each, they are a great, thoughtful gift idea for Cinco De Mayo.

6. A home personalized Sombrero would be a lovely Cinco De Mayo gift. You can buy a Sombrero at Party City or other party stores for about $3, and decorate them with the recipients name, the date, etc, all in different colored fabric paint.

5. A mini cactus will remind the recipient of arid conditions, much like Mexico’s tropical and desert like climates, but will also provide as being the best plant that the recipient will never be able to kill. Available at local outdoor and home stores, usually for just a couple of dollars.

4. Gift coupons for Taco Bell. Taco Bell is a very American fast food restaurant with a Mexican food theme. The food is always fast and the quality is not bad. You can give a gag gift of $5 or $10 in Taco Bell Bucks to the recipient to remind them of the holiday–at least they’ll get a great meal out of it!

3. A set of Margarita glasses would be a lovely idea for a Cinco De Mayo gift. You can purchase plain, traditional margarita glasses at wal-mart for about $2 each, or buy the plain ones and jazz them up with a little bit of acrylic paint on the outside. Then provide them as a crafty and inexpensive gift that the recipient will surely enjoy.

2. A bucket of frozen Margarita mix. Give the promise of a great night with the girls by giving your recipient just the Margarita mix. Attach a note mentioning that you would be more than happy to share that with him/her very soon. It’s a great inexpensive option for any adult.

1. And last but not least, hire a maid. I know in South Florida, none of the maids speak English. Give the gift of cleanliness to your recipient while supporting illegal immigrants in this country on their day. You can hire someone to clean your house, condo or apartment for about $10 per hour, or $40 for the whole house.

There are plenty of other gift options to give on Cinco De Mayo, but since it isn’t even an official holiday, just giving a small token is worth while.
