Trivia Night Bars in Seattle, Washington

Seattle can be cold and rainy – there is no denying that. With cool neighborhoods and funky bars, pubs and restaurants, however, you can find a warm spot wherever and whenever you are looking for one! Where do you go to find such warmth? Head for one of the trivia nights offered at locations throughout the city. Good food, great drinks, friends, and – in some cases – ping pong, you can’t go wrong! From the funky Pioneer Square vibe to the excitement of the UW crowd, there is a trivia location that will perfectly suit your mood, your personality and your trivia game! The locations listed below are all 21+ establishments.

Celtic Bayou
7281 W Lake Sammamish Pkwy NE
Redmond, WA 98052
(425) 869-5933
Located in Redmond – the heart of the Microsoft district – Celtic Bayou offers trivia night every Monday at 7:30. There is no charge to play, and the food is delicious – Southern classics and delicious Irish fare. There are always a variety of great people, but come prepared to be annihilated – Microsoft land is a place of brains! There are prizes, some of which are cash.

Molly Maguires
610 NW 65th St
Seattle, WA 98117
(206) 789-9643
Located in the cool and eclectic Ballard neighborhood, Molly Maguires offers trivia every Wednesday at 9:00 pm. This is a real PUB, with more types of beer than you can imagine, stews, delicious salads, and burgers that will blow your mind. There is pool as well, and a great atmosphere. If you are looking for a true “Pub” experience, this is it. The trivia is great, there is no charge, and the competition is fun and low-key. Prizes abound!

Fado
801 1st Ave
Seattle, WA 98104
(206) 264-2700
Another Irish Pub, Fado may well be the coolest bar in Seattle’s coolest neighborhood – Pioneer Square. Fado offers trivia every Wednesday at 6:30 pm. There are pub prizes and a great sense of family at this pub. Although this pub is a bit corporate, it is still a great experience. If you are looking for an authentic Irish pub, this probably isn’t the place – but it’s still lots of fun! The trivia runs the gamut of Irish to popular culture.

Old Pequliar
1722 NW Market St
Seattle, WA 98107
(206) 782-8886
This is THE place for trivia buffs in Seattle. Located in the Ballard neighborhood, Old Pequliar offers trivia on Tuesdays. Sign up is at 7:45, with the festivities starting at 8:00 pm. There are teams of up to five, and there is a fee of $5 per team, and the top 3 teams at the end of the night take the pot. This is hard-core trivia at its best, with serious beer to go alone with the serious trivia. The questions are not easy, and the competition is tough! Not for the faint at heart, but fun to watch and play – when you are brave enough to take part!

The Ram Restaurant and the Big Horn Brewery
2650 NE University Village S
Seattle, WA 98105
(206) 525-3565
Located in the University District, this is a great place for trivia! Trivia is offered every Monday at 10pm, and the food at The Ram is a reason in itself to go. Thick burgers, juicy steaks, and old-fashioned fries make this a great destination for a trivia experience. This is a college crowd and can get a bit raucous – but its a fun time! Sign up early – at least 30 minutes before trivia starts.

Kangaroo and Kiwi Pub
7305 Aurora Ave N
Seattle, WA 98103
(206) 297-0507
This is NOT the Outback – its a pure, real Australian and New Zealand pub with a vibe unlike any other. Located near gorgeous Green Lake, they have sports from back home on all the time, and free wireless (but no cheating during Trivia!) . The Kangaroo and Kiwi offers trivia each Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., usually coupled with some crazy rugby and a great experience. This is actually my favorite place for trivia, because it’s fun, very low key, and has a friendly experience.

No matter where you go, trivia is a fun experience for all! Make sure to bring some extra cash – trivia prices are changing all the time – and, with a bit of luck, you may win some prizes.
