Tria Laser Hair Removal System Review

According to the Official Tria Laser Hair Removal Website, The Tria Hair Removal Laser is the only laser that delivers permanent results at home. It is “FDA-cleared safe and effective” for below the neck only. The website states that the Tria laser is made by the same scientists who created the gold standard for in-office laser hair removal, and claims that the Tria Laser delivers “forever-smooth skin liberated from shaving, waxing, stubble, razor burn and ingrown hairs” Also, that users will have “less hair growth in 90 days and become hair-free in as little as 6 months.

This pretty much sounded like the answer to my prayers since I would have to be dead in order to ever get the guts to visit a spa or salon and have it done professonally. I have been waiting for a way to get permanent laser hair removal done from the “comfort of my own home” for as long as I can remember. If owning the Tria meant I would be able to have laser hair removal at home anytime I wanted, then I was going to get my hairy little fingers on this Tria no matter what I had to do…and all I had to do was purchased my Tria on Amazon for $395. Keep in mind, I have not been given any incentive, payment or free product to write this review. Well actually the only incentive was to finally eliminate the hairy white legs I tend to sport after just one day of not shaving. Therefore, this is a sincere review based on my personal experience with the Tria Laser Hair Removal System.

To begin with, the size of the actual Tria laser treatment head is approximately 1/4 inch round. This was suitable for small areas, however it was a little bit laborious for larger areas such as on my legs. My skin is actually pale and I have dark coarse hair which according to the literature that was supplied with the Tria, this is actually the best way for one to be hairy in order to get optimum results. I used the Tria on power 5 which is maximum, and so I did experience a slight unpleasant sensation while using the device. Also, afterwards I developed somewhat of a rash which according to the literature, is perfectly normal and indicates the Tria laser is actually working. I simply applied an ice pack immediately following each use which worked quite well to subside the redness and bumps. Aside from the temporary discomfort during treatment, I haven’t experienced any serious side effects using the Tria laser, even after using the highest setting.

A couple of weeks later, I noticed dead hair shafts falling out as well as hairs that were easily pulled out with tweezers. I found the Tria to be fairly tolerable due to the fact that the treatment head is relatively small therefore less hair getting zapped resulted in less pain per zap. On the other hand, the smaller treatment head means that less area gets covered per treatmentmaking the process a bit tedious.

Another thing is I find it lasts for about 10-15 minutes of use at power 5. This is enough to do about half of one lower leg. This is okay for me because I prefer doing short sessions in the mornings before my kids get up(however, it would be nice to have the option of going longer if I wanted to).

The laser diode technology has been in use for several years and it is most effective on black hair and pale skin. Unfortunately, as long as you have hormones, new hair follicles will continue to form on your body (the location will change depending on which hormones are in control). This is why “permanent hair reduction” is more accurate and more realistic for all forms of laser hair removal. The only hairs that are actually killed are the ones that are treated in the growth phase. Furthermore, simply because a hair falls out does not imply the follicle is dead. Getting hairs to fall out and actually killing them are two different things. This is why the repeated treatments are necessary. Not all the hairs you treat are in the “growth phase. You will have to go over the same areas several times over the course of months to eventually catch all of the hairs in their growth phase. And of course, as you are zapping away, it is likely that your hormones are working against you and sprouting new follicles.

Overall, I have not been disappointed with the Tria Laser Hair Removal System. I’ve used the laser several times now, not to mention exactly every 2 weeks as recommended. My lower legs are now virtually hair free. The only downfall is it is extremely time consuming to do each treatment. Essentially, to complete my knees and lower legs it takes me several mornings. Not to mention, I can only do a small area at a time prior to the charge running out.

Using the Tria Laser Hair Removal System requires a great deal of time and patience. As long as I am certain to adhere to the protocol, I definitely get reasonable results. I have faith that the Tria Laser is going to spare me the traumatic experience of ever having to visit an actual spa or salon, yet still render my white legs completely hairless sometime in the near future.
